So all of you are receiving your copies already? Nope! I bet mine is stuck in customs. Like usual. (This is why I like to have my EMS tracking number, dammit! Just for kicks, I should ask for it after I receive the game. XD)

lol, just ask in future. They replied either next day or the day after for me (it was on release day, I just can't remember when I asked). Normally I don't bother because I can play a download copy while I'm waiting for the postal service to get their asses in gear, but this time... ;-;

Lots of fun playing as Dogi, and now you get to buy weapons for him!

The best glove in the game for Dogi must be called "Wall Crusher".

When did that order go in? If it has months before then that's... weird. I know someone else who preordered two days before release and hasn't heard from them though, in the run up to the release followed by the big chain of holidays that is this week they're probably delayed, so you might hear something either the end of this week or the next. Might as well shoot them an email anyway, though, sometimes they forget, like they did with my VMP preorder. Perhaps you are right. I did get confirmation from Falcom's Ordering Department on August 6th, but the my credit card was never charged as far as I can tell. Though I cannot see all pending transactions posted, so it might be there and I just can't see it yet. Maybe I'll contact them about it soon. -Thomas

Well I just sent them an email about it, so hopefully if they haven't already sent it, it will eventually get sent soon enough. It is for Yakra and I know she must be dying to play it. But I guess it works out well enough. They haven't shipped out her Xanadu Next Limited Edition and Ys Origin from the Yahoo Japan middleman service I use yet either, so maybe all of it will arrive at the same time. : ) I've already got a nice box set aside for mailing it over to her to next day after it arrives... so, I'm just in that anxious waiting stage where I'm wondering what is going on with the shipments and such. : 0 I don't want to keep her waiting for this Falcom Super-Bundle for too long!

Ngghhhhh, my copy hasn't arrived yet. To all you people who have yours, we hates you! We hates you forever until my copy arrives. For now I think I'll blow off some steam by glitching my copy of Oath and going on a rampage through town.

Still tooling around in the first city, but I have to say, I'm really enjoying it. They did a great job giving Altago a lot of character. I like how it's split into the new city and the old city, with the residents of the old city basically being poor and forgotten... and the map design really reinforces that. I love the music on the poor side of town, more than the modern side. I had to visit there multiple times at first just to keep hearing it. Also, thankfully the field theme "Mother Earth Altago" is on the soundtrack mini.

Mmmm, delicious Altago! Sure am enjoying this awesome game. Such a shame Yotaka doesn't have it yet. (*runs*) -Tom > Haven't got around to buying a copy yet. But thanks to everyone who's posting impressions. It's awfully exciting to read. ^_^ I'm glad the move to PSP doesn't seem to have diminished the Falcom charm~

Do you guys agree this is the biggest change to the formula since Napishtim? Napishtim was such a huge change from the previous games, and then Felgana and Origin pretty much played the same. Seven seems really different. You've got the new moves (dash and parry), the new skill system, the partners, the field areas seem a lot more massive and open, you're going around collecting herbs and monster parts and stuff to create new equipment... that's what I've noticed so far. It really plays a lot differently I think. I like it, but I dunno if I like it as much as the previous few games in the series. I like Ys because it cuts down on exploration and epic length quests, and generally the level design has been really tight. Seven feels a lot more epic and like I said while I am liking it more and more... but it seems like it has taken some MMORPG elements. I guess I won't know how I feel about it until I get to the end! Could end up being a good direction for the series to head.

So I know the downloaded version of Ys 7 won't work with a custom firmware PSP, but how about the actual UMD?
I want to take the plunge and order this, but if it involves getting rid of the custom firmware, I'm gonna have to wait till it's hacked.

Oh, definitely. Felghana and Origin did feel like refinements of Napishtim's system (the only real changes I remember were the EXP bonus bar and the new item sytstem), whereas Seven feels like it's continuing where 6 left off, adding in elements from some of Falcom's other games (the party member switching from Zwei 2, the dodging from Gurumin, etc) into the mix. Personally I still prefer a lot of things in Origin too - the boss system in particular, having three party members and access to a supply of items decreases the tension a bit, though the difficulty is up to bar (although if anyone wants a challenge I suggest you start on hard at least) so it's not too bad. The skills add more variety than just 'attackattackattackwindringattack' too. Edit: discoalucard - The umd won't work either, so unless you have access to a pandora battery you'll have to wait for another CFW release

Just use the Pandora battery to format it to Original Firmware to play it. Then switch back to CFW with Pandora for ISO.

One of the main reasons I use CFW is for screenshot capabilities though, to cover for my site. Without that, my PSP is almost useless. At least I can play it, I guess, until some better method comes along. Thanks!

Just very small corrections... xD Random bad points: - When you change the attack button to something other than O, it also changes the talk button... so now I get to attack with square, but I also have to talk to villagers with square, which is kinda awkward. Actually, it has been like that since Ys VI (namely: Ys VI PC, YsF, YsO): this is not an Ys SEVEN issue. I personally already got used to it a long time ago; all you have to do is to give it a little time. Felghana and Origin did feel like refinements of Napishtim's system (the only real changes I remember were the EXP bonus bar and the new item sytstem), Actually, the former "change" isn't a change at all. xD It's also present in Ys VI. (Also... I personally wouldn't quite consider the changes as "refinements"... though that's only my opinion. )

Just as a closure to the issue I was having with my Falcom Order, they actually ended up sending it today with Japan Express Mail. So Wyrdwad was surely correct that it was already on its way. : ) Now to email Yakra!

What, the exp bonuses where attacking enemies multiplied your EXP? That wasn't in Ys 6, I just checked.

What, the exp bonuses where attacking enemies multiplied your EXP? That wasn't in Ys 6, I just checked. Oh, sorry, curses! For whatever reason when you said "EXP bonus bar", to me in the above context it seemed like that meant "an additional (bonus) EXP bar (the bar that shows how much EXP is left to level up, shown above HP bar)". xD
