What?! When did you get a parrot, and why did you get a crippled one? As for advise remember to feed it and change it's water. And DON'T sit on her like you did the cat!

Simple I got her for Anita as a birth present, but three weeks ago Anita and I got in to an argument over our jobs and she left. She packed all her stuff but left the bird saying she didn't want the damn cripple. After two weeks it was legally mine. The crippled part was all Anita. She kept saying that it was so sad that that bird couldn't fly, and how cute that was. I just bought it because she was the one Anita wanted.
And yes I know I learn that sitting on things is bad. I have plans on doing it ever again.

Okay so yesterday when The Captain and I went to the community picnic we asked the Parrot booth people how you take care of a Parrot with the problems yours has. We were told first off that the best thing for you to do is to give her to a bird/parrot sanctuary, failing that you should call the lady we spoke with and she can try to help the you out. She also said that you shouldn't let her lay on her side since it might break one of her air sacks. You should also have a cage that's on the ground with lots of wire ladders for her to use to climb, and keep her food and water on the ground floor of her cage. Finally, she was talking about physical therapy and things like that, so call her.

On second thought, find a different person to call. Our second run-in with this lady has left us with a very sour impression, and we fear she will try to take your bird and keep it from you. So do a bit of looking in the phone book for a a different sanctuary.
If you feel like a being mean, call her and ask about othe sanctuaries. =]
