Ok the site has been updated with alot of new content.
Special section has info on the voice actors (im assuming its info about the VA's ) for Elena and Dogi. It also has a info section for the directer of the project (im guessing about that). All 3 people had a QA session and they are on the site.
Also in the banner section of the specials, two new banners are now available featuring Elena.
Character Section now has Dogi and Elena.
-On to the Product Section
Here comes the BIG NEWS, buckle yourself to a chair so you dont break your monitor or laptop from your excitement.
The section shows that there is a OiF Drama CD that will be made available with the purchases of the game for 5040 yen. They are also doing a Box package with both the game and CD for 6930 yen. (You can correct me on the items if I am wrong.)
Also there releasing a Ys Seven and Ys Chronicles box which is what you think, Chronicles and Seven one bundle, also added to that is I am guessing 8 items featuring some artwork. Cant tell what the items are. The price is 7890 yen.
Best for Last, OiF is getting a "Ys Oath in Felghana JDK Special."

Yep. You can switch between the regular OiF soundtrack, the PC-8801 Ys III soundtrack, and the X68000 Ys III soundtrack, on the fly. Needs more SNES soundtrack. ...yes, I'm biased due to nostalgia

Yes, it definitely needs the SNES and PCE/TCD soundtracks too! ...I'm so happy I own Ys III PCE now. Hmmm... well, I'd still love to get my hands on this! Can't wait!

But, we mustn't get ahead of ourselves! The best soundtrack of the bunch - that being OiF's own - is still present! So all is still good! 1) reminds me of the 6 disc Afterburner soundtrack collection that Sega put out.. the game only has about 6 songs in it! 2) Also reminds me of my initial thoughts on OiF's soundtrack: How did they take a soundtrack so amazing that it was the leading reason I owned and played the game and make it better?!

It seems that the game will have full voice acting for all scenes and for all characters (even minor npcs like the ones in Redmond).

I hope that doesn't hurt the game's chances of coming out here (due to added localization cost). I know anime people like the voice acting gimmick but it just gets in the way of getting back to what makes Ys good, the gameplay.

For me as an average animefag is an interesting plus. It's a game I've beaten many times on PC already, and fortunately, Ys is not a text-based franchise and most of them can be completed just hacking your way through the dungeons.
The thing that worries me the most are technical issues. Slowdowns for example. If a simple PC port of a title with no outstanding visuals like Ys Chronicles has issues, a port of a more complex 3D title may too.
I mean, alternate retro soundtracks, voices, cutscenes, new dungeons and all of that is nice, but if the gameplay suffers as a consequence of a bad port, it isn't worth it IMO.

If that was the case, Ys SEVEN would have had slowdowns and low framerates as well, but gladly it didn't. I recall Wyrdwad saying something like the PSP is better at dealing with 3D graphics than 2D ones. I think it will be an awesome port in all ways.

Maybe he fell victim to the delete account button being in such a horrible place? I've comes pretty close to clicking it instead of "modify account" a few times. :X

If that was the case, Ys SEVEN would have had slowdowns and low framerates as well, but gladly it didn't. Well, it DOES have slowdowns, but gladly just in some exact places (many enemies bursting at the same time into loot). And I mean, being awesome as it is, Ys Seven is not the best example of what the PSP can do, and still has issues, while more impressive games run smoothly (Dissidia, Crisis Core, Tekken 5 DR, Gran Turismo, etc.). The cause is a bad optimization of the code. Even Final Fantasy Tactics has slowdowns when you cast magic because this. This happens and have happened anywhere and everywhere: The most recent example is Bayonetta. The PS3 version is being critiziced for having slowdowns were the XTS version didn't have. Ys Seven was a huge improvement from Ys VI PSP. Getting used with the hardware helps but still Ys Seven was a game made from scrath on the PSP while the others (Ys OiF included) were ports and did have serious issues.

Well, no slowdowns if you don't use the UMD. xD *shot* At least on PSP-2000. Also, I totally disagree with that "more impressive" label you put for the games you just mentioned. Like, no freaking way. (As for how smooth they are, that's something else entirely, though I wonder what's smoother than a game running on constant 60 fps with as good animations as those seen in Ys SEVEN. xD Hmmmm.) (By the way, FFT is full of 2D, like the sprites and the summons. And... it was a pretty disappointing port to me; a total SE-quality port. Y_Y I thought of playing FFT "wherever I wanted", but I think I'd rather get a battery + mini-screen for a PSOne if that's the intent...) Though, whether or not Ys SEVEN made use of the PSP's full potential, that I don't know. But I know I couldn't have asked more from Ys SEVEN. xD By the way, I think Falcom knows REALLY well how to port: just check out Gurumin and Zwei!! in case you didn't yet. It's AMAZING!! I didn't like much what they did with Ys I & II Chronicles though, however in that case they didn't have any other option, so it would be totally pointless if I complained at Falcom about it. As for Ys VI, that's something else entirely. xD (Though, again, even THAT port lacked any serious issue... as long as one ran the game from the Memory Stick, and on a PSP-2000. *double-shot*) So, with all that said, I really expect a great YsF port done by Falcom.

I think SEVEN runs at 30fps, not 60, judging by the smoothness (it's not perfect) and the readout from RemoteJoy.
However, I've only very rarely experienced slowdowns, and they likely had more to do with my console than the game itself.
Oh, almost forgot to mention. I think the only thing I'm worried about with the OiF port is the lack of gore. D:

I could bet my life Ys SEVEN doesn't run at 30 fps. And I'm very, very, VERY confident it runs at 60 fps, too. xD Ys VI wasn't ported by Falcom, so that one doesn't even count toward your argument. Really, the only "bad" PSP port Falcom's done has been Ys I & II, and even that one isn't BAD, it just has a framerate issue that isn't present in their other ports. I know. xD That's what I meant with "that's something else entirely", as in, "it's irrelevant", exactly for the reason you just said: Konami job. It's just that he brought it up. Though, I can see from where he may be coming from, since YsF and VI share the same engine, thus Ys VI PSP's issues could be present in YsF PSP. Regarding that, we can only wait and see, however I'm pretty sure they won't.
