You know, they never really discussed in any of the series how daily life on Earth was. :/ I'm pretty sure there are a lot of resources out there (maybe fan works?) that go into detail though.
I'm just curious how we got to a state of supposed peace and harmony on planet Earth!

If we had replicator technology, we would misuse it:
1. We would capitalize. It's all about income. 2. We would replicate war machines and technology. 3. We would probably replicate soldiers.
What's keeping any of our planet's countries from misusing said technology, should we ever invent it? It would cause untold mayhem in the wrong hands!
// And if it did do exactly as wyrdwad proposes, I highly doubt our current society is mentally capable of handling 24/7 home lives. Some of us would be smart to remain hard at work, to continue our lives as productive members of society. Others won't be any different than they are today. They'll be fed at least, but honestly no different.
Money would still be used for housing and taxes, because our government is entirely too stupid to utilize such technology to its true potential.

Perhaps... but that's a scary thought. Sounds more like a fairytale than how reality usually works out. I'm sure there's a possibility something goes right -- but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Oh, I wish I had the chance to view such pretty moons. xD Anyway, happy new year everyone. xD I'm also not too festive (engrish?) about it, since I also just see it like any other day (to me not even days "exist"... time just flows xD), but it's still nice to celebrate it, for we are humans, and we like that sorta stuff. The moment the year passed, I was losing or had just lost a doubles match in SSBM. xD Then kept shouting "HAPPY NEW YEAR" around with some people and exchanged hugs. Then we opened a bottle of wine. The wine was really, really bad, though. I'd rather have grape juice. <3

I get the point that the no money and no hunger will eliminate a lot of stress and horrible things going on in the world today but I'm with Unsavory on all this in that it's an overly-optimistic view that technology would bring world peace.
The entire human race has to evolve into, uh, more compassionate beings before peace and harmony can exist. Or at least the mentality of superority over different cultures, the need to be at the top/the best has to stop being a part of human nature.
At long as those things are around, we will NEVER all get along as one race.

I think the idea, though, is that within the next couple centuries, we WILL evolve into more compassionate beings! Substitute centuries for millennia and I will believe what you say. Maybe. :3!!!

To be fair, so do optimists. Deep inside.

Star Fleet is the answer to all questions.

Being a Next Gen-er, I still see Klingons as friends of the Federation. That's the one thing I've heard about Star Trek Online that I really dislike: Klingons being enemies again. I want more Worfs, dammit. :( That's gonna require a lot of love-makings between humans and Klingons then. :3

More like Uneasy allies man. There are a few times in Generation, that the alliance almost breaks.
