A quick browse on the Magic Engine forums turned up some sweet information. Apparently, the dormant English patch for Startling Odyssey II has been finished, and an initial beta has been released. The translation job was done via electronic translator, so expect a more passe translation job. From what I’ve played, it seems to be a better localization job than what some professional companies – Bandai included – produce (Ouch, I know, but well deserved). Startling Odyssey II was released in 1994, on the Japanese only PC Engine system. The second in a trilogy of games was also announced for Playstation, but ended up being canceled. This marks the first time that English fans can fully enjoy the series. The patch has been supplied in the .ppf format, meaning you will need to snag PPF-O-Mattic to properly apply the patch. You will also need to rip the game into .iso format using TurboRip, which takes seconds to execute. If anyone has questions on how to apply the patch, just post a comment here. justinzer0.wordpress.com/2010/04/01/startling-odyssey-ii-gets-a-translation/

This patch was not done by Nightwolve. It was mentioned that the patch, is like nightwolve past patches that were in ppf format. The patch is awesome tho I may mention! Been playing it since last night. Rip your image with TurboRip to get the proper format, and apply the patch to Track 2 ISO.

Thanks for the heads up. The post implies that he helped out with compiling the patch. I get that edited right away.

Sorry to resurrect this topic after such a long time but does anyone have the Startling Odyssey 2 translation patch? I've been searching everywhere and I can't track it down. The original post of it on the Magic engine forums was available on megaupload which is now unavailable. Any help would be awesome.
