how about paying google for an ad?  ......j/k Do not falter, tancients. It'll take sometimes for the words to spread and for people to remember about Zwei 2. BTW, I'm having some troubles spreading the words when people keep asking me for download link. xD And I also have doubt that the patch will be leaked when beta testers are decided.  |

A download link to what? The game? Clearly you should avoid the poor sectors of the internet.
And were you hoping the beta patch would be leaked? Tsk tsk tsk, the person who did it wouldn't get beta access to Zwei!! and any future translations if they did!

Well, like you said I've got some PMs asking for download link of the game from some (mostly) new members in some of the forums that I posted the ads, and to tell you the truth, every sectors of the internet are not cleaned, even here, since the forums are opened to everyone.
Oh and it's quite funny when some even think that you are the publisher.
But let's look at it from the good side, after refusing to provide them the download link, some of them ask me for help in acquiring the game. It looks like that they are having trouble buying game from foreign country like Japan, I guess the problem are they couldn't understand the language, and how the way buying stuffs from Falcom work even there's already a tutorial here in this forum.
And I'm not hoping for anything, it's just that I want to know if you have prepared for any situations that is coming up next.
And tancients, maybe I'm a little oversensitive, but please don't be upset. You have done a great job, just need to keep yourself cool.

Hm... I didn't think of the patch leaking bit... That... is not impossible. I hope it doesn't happen, though, and if it does, I hope no one gets as traumatized by it as NW did...
I don't think it'll happen, though, if the beta falls on the right hands.

Well, it's not me being angry or anything. Sarcastic if anything.
And I've prepared for everything. Those who get beta access now, get to be eligible for any future betas, including the upcoming Zwei!!. If it's leaked early however, then that sort of privilege gets revoked for that person, and special bonus content may end up being excluded from the final public patch.
Every single possibility has been accounted for with the exception of the termination of life for anyone on the Zwei 2 team.

No content accessible in the Japanese version of Zwei 2 is getting removed or untranslated in any way. No worries there.

I always think I make a great beta tester when it comes to secrecy. Mainly because I have no friends online, RL friends don't care about the games I play, and I just generally have no reason to share limited things to increase the size of my epeen or internet cred or whatever.
On the other hand, finding sufficient amounts of time is the tough part for me...

I don't think tancients would let that happen, and neither would we. As moderators, it is our duty to look after every part of our community. In the past, we have made accommodations to those who have made contributions, such as the hackers and translators, to make sure they and their works are treated with the respect they deserve.

This is a bit offtopic, but... I'd really love it if Falcom made Gurumin 2. Then finally directly tied both series. It'd be awesome to play as everyone from all those games in a single game... And add an Ys cameo, and then it's a perfect masterpiece, like adding a cherry on the top of a delicious cake.  *mogu mogu* *pakku pakku* |

Hasn't even been 100 views a day, though.
500 of those views came from the first two days.
And 250 or so of those arguably came from one source.

How about "Zwei 2 from Falcom English Beta Teaser Trailer and Contest" That'd pretty much cover you for relevant search terms.

Another thing that would help immensely is some nice hi-rez screenshots and a feature list to get people interested. If I post the vid on a board and that's it, people simply don't notice it.
