Yes, it was a lovely, and manly hug, but don't be jealous, here *hug* Aww, why didn't I realize how sweet you are... And thanks for letting me have indirect hug with tancients.

Um.. Pretty sure that tancients is the type to use a double-edged battleaxe on random strangers who attempt to hug her...
Afterall, she did Platinum Dark Souls.
Just sayin'. : )

*nods* Getting a wrong impression isn't exactly unheard of. tancients is a great person who, in spite of my social shortcomings, offered me their assistance in a time of need, and in spite of my being (to put it nicely) a poor investment, no amount of apologies and 'thank yous' could quite cover restitution for all of the help, guidance, and support they have given. Although I feel that I have damaged our working relationship, I am indebted and offer to do anything I can to assist them.

He was just probably trying to cut my sweetness, I'm sure he didn't want to sound offensive, anyway, guess you are the one that needed the hugs more than everyone else.

Tancients, I'll do it for $150, but it will be coded using HTML / CSS if you don't mind that being the format. Last time I worked on the Birds of a Feather Site for you I remember it being designed in PHP and originally created with some kind of template which made it difficult to work with. To do this properly, you would want to design the whole thing from scratch and if you wanted to provide your own artwork / graphics that would be fine as well.

Hi japel, tancients contacted me about the site and it seems like it's going to take more time than I originally thought for the price. Your more than welcome to step in if you like.

I know I already mentioned in PM that I didn't know javascript -- but then I Googled it. It reminds me of all the years I've spent writing classic Graal scripts, integrating new UI, enemies, weapons, and gameplay -- essentially converting it from a Zelda clone to a Metroid clone. It was pretty nifty. I'm definitely familiar with the If (clause || string==string || variable>=#) {function; function;} format. I'm sure it's a great deal more complex than that, but as you know I'm a hands-on learner. Armed with a mere reference list of clauses and functions, (or opcodes in the case of my project) I often pick up big projects with *no* prior knowledge or experience. It all depends on what you hope to achieve with it, although judging by my project's reputation and progress, I'm relatively certain that everyone else here would get it done faster.

I just pm'ed tancient, but being honest, I think a custom wordpress with some jquery widgets its what she needs, I can do all of what she wants (its quite easy,), but I have to do it by hand, (I don't have experience with those "canned" frameworks ) send her a pm, perhaps its a breeze for you.

I've got about 3 years experience as a web developer and I was under the same impression as japel, in that in order get what she is is looking to have, she'll probably need a PHP website at least with a MySQL database or CMS website like Wordpress, Joomla with a JQuery slide-show, only from the requirements she had and the examples she was looking for at some other websites, I don't think the JQuery slide-show of choice that I would use "NivoSlider" would work well enough to accommodate what she was hoping to see and that Flash would be more suited for that, only with Flash, of course, you run into the issues of mobile browsing not being able to display it.
If cjakub has experience with working with GetSimple CMS, that might be enough to handle her requests and the website host that we are currently hosting her site from supports MySQL Databases and Apache.

Joomla can be a little bitchy to customize, and I thought wordpress was the same, but after digging a little bit on it last night, damn, I kinda feel bad for letting cjakub do the job, its quite easy, and well worth the $150 she was offering

I think what you did in such a short time is REALLY amazing, design included. I'm impressed. It kept it all simple and efficient. If I had anything constructive to say at all, maybe you could stick something small "darker" in color when you scroll all the way down in the page, because it looks too white compared to the upper parts of the site. If the page doesn't end this "white", even if you just added a small horizontal, darker line down there, it might make the reader not lose interest in whatever is written in the lower parts of the website. That's just something very minor, though.
