There are some things (so far) I have been wondering and thought asking here. 1. Whats the whole setup for story? 2. How is the damage made by sword determined (same equipment&level)? Does it depend on which part of sword hits the enemy, which way is the enemy facing when sword hits, or maybe which part of enemy the sword hits? Or is it determined by some other factors, I doubt its random ey? 3. About the people of Foresta(?) village, at the beginning they don't feel good about Adol because he is red haired?? P.S. As a bonus I just noticed something fun happens if you don't unequip your magic when changing your equipment (or only sword?), and then try casting magic with no magic equipped with the new sword Luckily I hadn't saved the game for a long time so I can do everything I did again ^^ lol

Thanks for the answers It seems I got it right there then Another fast question (just one this time but more are probably coming): Are the element emeralds(?) you use for making the magic spells limited so you can't get all the spells? So far I haven't used any of them (except the ones you need for the first spell) because I am afraid of missing a nice spell if I use them now

Ok, I think I ll just collect all of them and then try all spells once I have enough elementals for that, just so I can see all of them. And now a few more questions ^^
Whats the meaning of those crystals? (ye, they are stuff found at the end of dungeon and adol is on quest to collect them, but whats the deeper meaning? like in YsIII those statues had power to seal(?)/revive Galbalan)
What is the connection between Seebe and Kefin countries? (there were those two some time ago?)
Thanks for answering my questions earlier, and thanks in advance to answer my most-likely-to-be-idiotic questions in future ^^

I believe the crystals are very similar to the statues in that they either awaken an evil; and/or grant the user power.
As far as the connection between Seebe/Kefin; I don't read Japanese, I'm still learning. Sorry.

Finally after a quite long break because of exams, summer & exams (I took break soon after the last post in this forum so it started somewhere around mid-May I guess) I have started this one again. And a couple of questions came to my mind, so I decided to fire this thread up again - whether that fire will be continue by adding some more wood or will someone pour a bucket of water on it, I don't know. 1. About the crystals again Why did Adol go trough all the trouble of collecting those crystals? He was talked into the job by that Dorman-something guy(am I right?). But what was the reason? Adol didn't do it just for his sake that's for sure.. 2. What do people in Kefin know about outside world? And what do they think off it? 3. How is alchemy related to all this stuff in game? What do legends or stories tell about it?

1. I'm just assuming Dorman took advantage of Adol's wanderlust. That's pretty much all I can give you.

Yep that it is for sure, but it wasn't just like he told Adol about the crystals and then Adol traveled all around the place like some treasure hunter to steal those crystals There must have been some real reason for Adol to do it, so he thinks he is doing the right thing, right? And those reasons I want to know

Ys V premise is similar to Ys IV, Adol arrives in port and discovers dark goings-on. The whole story is basically to find the legendary city and meet lots of characters on the way.
I kinda got confused between IV and V initially, but both games have loads of story. The gems are there because you can sell them to get money, which is a big change from the other games I think.
