Ok this is too much to pass up. In this bottom of this promotion, they list the contents of the Ys Seven Bundle and a picture. • Game soundtrack CD featuring more than 20 songs (I assume this is the exactly like the Ys Seven OST Falcom sells) • 60-page art book showcasing artwork from Ys SEVEN, Ys: The Oath in Felghana, and Ys I & II Chronicles • 12.5” by 34” Cloth Map highlighting the world of the Ys series www.facebook.com/notes/Ys-series-the-official-page/name-in-game-promotion/121938324510558This is awesome.

Posting the only interesting part of that link, the picture of the LE package, because fuck Facebook. Also, bought.

Not to belittle this amazing LE, especially if it is including the entire soundtrack, but man that picture looks like the soundtrack is gonna have the same laughable production quality as the Lunar one.
XSEED needs to get themselves a better graphic designer, me thinks...

I don't like this part:
They can't use the original names?

It's not going to be the whole OST. The description says 'Over 20 tracks', while the actual OST has 52 tracks over 2 discs. Yes, that is technically 'over 20 tracks', but if it was the full thing they'd say over 50 and show 2 OST discs.

I don't like this part: They can't use the original names? I am sure they can, but I guess they want to use it as a promotional contest. As long as the quest npc they choose is not a important factor in the game, I dont mind.

When it comes to the contest, these isn't awesome The worst thing is that it's just a contest to get your name in the game. It's not like they're sending out prizes or anything. So there is just no good reason for restricting entries to the US only. Utter stupidity.

Unless there are some legal issues. Which apparently there are The XSEED rep was nice enough to reply to me on the issue on twitter: So yeah. They get my love back

Joined. Ooh I hope I get to choose what quest I give out if I'm picked. I don't want something stupid like the shrine in the forest. I want to be the one that tells Adol to find the Pikkards

I bet us Canadians have to answer some punkass SKILL TESTING QUESTION just to finalize their win. :P
Also, I randomly expressed dismay about the font face and colour in my comment at the Facebook page. XD
The more I look at that cover, the more I think I WILL flip the case around at every store I see that game at. (And have physical access to the thing.)

Yeah, I'm also pretty disappointed to see that it's actually the final packaging and not just a tentative cover -- it's extremely horrible how the Ys logo is cut off at the left. As I said, it should be on the top layer, (*above* the characters) and centered. What's worse, is that it really IS cut off and doesn't wrap around the packaging. Even if that is unprofessional, it'd be better to have wrap-around art than cut-off art.

Let's start a writing campaign to have that typography changed!
Or maybe just do up some cover designs ourselves for fun! *adds some pikkards and roos even though roos aren't even in the game*

To answer the original names question, I don't think most (any?) of the quest givers even had names in the original version, just descriptors of the kind of people they are.
That being said, is the limited edition going to be the only edition available for at launch or what?

That being said, is the limited edition going to be the only edition available for at launch or what? I'd assume not. Reasons why - there's a $30 regular edition on Amazon.com already, and they've gone for exactly the same kind of LE packaging as Lunar PSP had. And that had a regular edition too.

Re: No name NPCs.
Oh geezus. You're right! I forgot about that. X____x
Now I feel dumb asking the question at the XSEED page. XD!
But ... that's gonna be kind of WEIRD that the quest givers SUDDENLY have names though. ^^;;;

I think I'd rather be the crazy shrine lady just because you have to talk to her so many times... more chances to see my name. On that note, my name is Steve, so a lady who's named 'Steve' would be pretty awesome.

But she wasn't crazy. At least I sure hope not!
Having a crazy village chief isn't exactly a good thing! But I guess she's harmless so it's not like she'd tell her people to set the forest on fire as a means of praise to the deity or something.
Or maybe that happened after the game. Who knows?
Durrrrrrrrr ... I wonder if XSEED would let us use usernames? I mean, normal names might sound out of place. D:
And I DO want to be the little Pikkard Keeper Boy! :DDDDDDDD
