I don't know how Ys Seven compares in difficulty with the other games in the series as I, unfortunately, missed out out all of the games since Ys III. That being said, I have found Normal mode in Ys Seven to be much easier than I expected. I died a couple of times very early on in the game as I was getting used to everything, but I don't think I've died since and I'm at the last boss now.

Just wait until you try Oath in Felghana on 'Normal' mode. Everything above that is just sadistic (and let's not even mention Inferno mode).

Felghana is way harder. There are no stockable healing items and the bosses do tremendous amounts of damage unless you have the best equipment and are overleveled. I don't think it's uncommon to die in a handful of hits.

I'm glad to hear that Felghana is harder. I really loved Seven and it was an awesome way to be reintroduced to the series, but it was a bit too easy. I just finished the game last night and I beat the final boss on my first try. Final bosses should not be beatable on your first try. It just goes against everything I grew up knowing about video games. Maybe I'll play through Seven another time on a harder difficulty level while I wait for Felghana PSP
