So I assume Sora no Kiseki has insane amounts of dialogue?

How would you say the amount of text compares to 'average' RPGs? Since, y'know, Ys games aren't exactly the most text-heavy games.

Since I know you're very familiar with FFVII, Wyrd, how does the size of SnK's script compare to FFVII's?

... Jesus. From what he's said, Sora FC sounds like the text would be on-par with a FF-series game. Like 9 or something.

Sheesh, that is big. I can't imagine how arduous translating and editing SC will be.

I continue to salute the lot of you for even embarking on such a daunting task. I also can't wait to reap the eventual rewards of your doing so.

Likewise. I'm seriously expecting it to be one of the best RPGs I'll ever play.
No pressure!

I read that as 'spare pants'.

That's good to know; you may need them.
Frankly though? I'm still more looking forward to the other Ys releases for the PSP. I need my Ys fix on the go these days, man!

But why do you keep spare pants handy?

Likewise. I'm seriously expecting it to be one of the best RPGs I'll ever play. No pressure! Well my fanboy status for this series is very well known, but you'll have to take the whole trilogy as a whole for that I think. FC is like a very long world and character introduction that takes quite a while for the real plot to get moving, and then just as you feel like it's really about to get started, it ends with a cliffhanger the likes of which has never been seen before. The kind of players who're totally great with that and love losing themselves in a game's world, cast and lore will still totally love it though. It may be slow but it never felt badly paced to me, I enjoyed every hour of it. In fact I'm still enjoying it, replaying it for the third time before Zero comes out. I really can't help but wonder how well it's is going to go over with most though - especially the ending. A lot of FFFUUU posts all over gaming forums, I guess. And a whole lot of pestering XSEED for a SC release date.

Look on the bright side (I swear... that wasn't an intentional pun), the way FC ends guarantees a certain number of automatic sales of SC. Say, the exact same number that liked FC enough to finish it to begin with, plus however many of their friends they talk the games up to once they're assured that yes, there is a sequel and it'll be well worth waiting for.

Well, at least they'd still be telling people to buy a copy eventually, right? That's better than telling people not to buy the game at all because they can't handle multi-part stories.

Well, at least they'd still be telling people to buy a copy eventually, right? That's better than telling people not to buy the game at all because they can't handle multi-part stories. Considering how long it'll take SC to be localised, not getting half of your sales of FC before then would still be veeery bad for XSEED. Especially if people think 'Oh it's a niche game so it'll be cheaper then, I'll just wait if SC is that much better'. Hopefully that won't be an issue though. I mean, people bought the .hack games on release, knowing full well from the name that direct sequels were coming. And well, SC is 'unfinished' too. So is 3rd. So, I don't doubt for a second, will Zero be too. Just buy them on release and suffer like the rest of us.

Makes me wish VS didn't have spoilers for Sora. It'd be great to get it localized inbetween FC and SC.

Yeah, that sucks. As far the plot goes it shouldn't be released until after SC at least though, even if just for Renne.

Suddenly this makes me think of the reactions to The Lord of the Rings. "Wow, that movie sucked. They're STILL walking and questing by the end of it!" That'd be like ending The Wizard of Oz after the cowardly lion, tinman and scarecrow all join Dorothy.

And the funny thing is, that's pretty much the only big spoiler to come out of it (well, I suppose Cruxie counted as a minor one until Seven was released). The other potential spoiler-worthy aspects kind of weren't considering that nobody seemed to be all that bothered by Chester and Lowe showing up. Oh hey, dead best friend/brother figure! Cool, now where were we....

Why doesn't she just use her CO power? It fully replenishes her supplies, and it gives her additional movement and firepower for a short time, letting her translate even faster!
