Well, we disabled "fancy quotes" in every single program we use, right from the get-go... but for some reason, even regular ol' ASCII quotes are a no-go in this particular game's code. Very odd! Easy enough to work around, though. At least it wasn't like, "you are unable to use the letter E!" ;) -Tom No vowels, uppercase only, Final Destination Notepad! :p Gratuitous meme aside, I suppose you probably could've used two apostrophes next to each other to simulate a quotation mark if you really needed it, though it'd probably look kind of kludgy (especially with a fixed-width font).

Not so much, actually. Microsoft Word and a few other word processors auto-convert regular quotes (' and ") to their opening and closing counterparts (‘/’ and “/” ). The majority of fonts have support for the former, but not the latter. When I say not all fonts are created equal, I don't do so without a proper justification. I always considered the stuff that Word auto-converts to be unique "special characters". I personally hate 'em.

Windows 7 is a LOT better than Vista to be sure, but yeah, it still forces arranging files by a certain category type, rather than give you the ability to customize it. So annoying.

I prefer 7, but I'm one of the few who likes Vista too.

I unfortunately have had to stick with a few Windows Vista and a Windows 7. I dislike both. But luckily I managed to find a buried PowerPC G3 MacBook. Poor guy aged, though. But still has its unique qualities that it always did. Aah, the memories. xD I want a Windows XP. =s I miss it. =/ Damn new computer and unsupported stuff.

Windows SEVEN for the win

Windows SEVEN > Windows 7 (which I'm willing to admit is probably because I'm more USED to Windows) Definitely. Sounds like me whenever I had to use Windows back when I was a Mac-only user. xD (For having only Macs and no money to buy any other computer for a decade.) But yeah, you can TOTALLY bet there's a LOT of reason for the Mac to get all the love it does, instead of just mere fanatism. (There's a lot of fanatism for it, though, just like how there's a lot of... "fanatism against it", as well.) By the way, were you using OS X or one of the classical OSes? xD Mac OS 9 > Mac OS X I'm personally not quite fond of OS X. I prefer Windows XP over it, at least. But I have to say I got used to Windows now, so using a Mac after 5 years felt weird. But I also started remembering why it was so hard to switch to Windows and what I missed, while getting reused to it... ; ; By the way, though, overall, I think I'm more of a Windows XP guy nowadays more than anything. Just because of the amount of stuff that's developed for it versus a Mac (and how it's a decent-enough OS). My dream is to grab one of those recent Mac Laptops and install an OS per partition, with 3 partitions in total: Windows XP, MacOS X (since the hardware won't allow anything before that) and Linux. It's ironic how Mac Laptops can run Windows OSes the best, too. ... Why the hell didn't I install a VirtualPC here and put an XP on it yet? Gotta do that this weekend. ~

All this OS talk confuses the hell out of me. I use my computer for surfing the internet, reading VNs/watching anime and writing essays and other crap for school and nothing else. Doesn't really matter if I use XP, Vista or 7. I've never even bothered trying to customize anything beyond my wallpaper and probably never will.

Yeah, that's what sucks about Microsoft, too. They want you to buy, buy and buy their crap. They even purposefully change features they KNOW that WILL be bad, then re-change it back to what it was. (Like how you have to shut the PC down on Vista: the default option is "sleep" or so, and not "shut down" itself. Of course, they changed it back to "shut down" on Win7. There even were unofficial patches for Vista to change that.) "Oh hai, we improved the OSz~!". (Though Win7 did have some improvements over... Vista, at least.) God, I hate Vista / 7. /o\ They're usable, but seriously. Memory devourers. Useless and unpractical changes. Attempts to make it look fancy, but feeling so artificial. Also, not allowing better OSes such as Windows XP to have its drivers updated when the hardware is too "new", thus forcing you to eventually switch to their latest OSes is what sucks the most to me. Micro$hit @_@ Only have money in their minds. Now, look at Apple as an example: OS X has been OS X for over a decade. But you got tons of Microsoft OSes and one billion versions for each: Vista this, Vista that, 7 this, 7 that... Honestly. xD People who are like you who have always been MacOS users all this time hadn't to go through what you did, fortunately for them. (P.S.: Though it doesn't change the fact all companies pretty much only have money in their minds, but some are WAY more shameless than others.) All this OS talk confuses the hell out of me. I use my computer for surfing the internet, reading VNs/watching anime and writing essays and other crap for school and nothing else. Doesn't really matter if I use XP, Vista or 7. I've never even bothered trying to customize anything beyond my wallpaper and probably never will. You're pretty much right, but sometimes the OS can be highly relevant. Like... you buy a printer. Very fancy one. Then ... one fine day, you "upgrade" your fine Windows XP to Windows Vista ... or even 7 for all I care. XD Then your printer STOPS working. And nothing will change that. Aside less and less game compatibility etc..

Wasn't a November release date already confirmed? Maybe I'm imagining things.

I think that's just a placeholder date, we don't have an official date from XSEED yet, to my knowledge.
It will probably be sometime in November though, but we don't have an actual date.

What's odd is, it's the opposite for me. I have Vista installed at home right now, and Shut Down is the default -- always has been, since the day I bought my computer. I have Windows 7 installed at work, though, and "Sleep" is the default -- I have to open up the little menu and choose Shut Down every time. -Tom If you right-click an empty space on the taskbar, click "Properties", and go to the "Start Menu" tab, you'll be able to set the default to whatever you like. (On Windows 7, at least -- I don't have Vista installed here to check.)

To be honest it kind of feels like people give windows crap still for the 'blue screen of death' days of the OS. I know from personal experience that Win 7 runs smoothly, has a nice set of features, and is reliable. Plus the fact that most programs are windows compatible... I just don't get the big deal about other OS's.

I've never had a BSOD in my 8 or so years of using Windows.

I prefer 7, but I'm one of the few who likes Vista too. Same. After all of the horror stories I heard, when I actually got Vista it wasn't as bad as I anticipated. Didn't prevent the occasional bug from ruining my parade, though.

I got a BSOD on Win 7 by my own fault. I accidentally pulled out a USB DVD burner while Windows was burning a DVD. yeah, that would pretty much kill any system
