What happened to the Theme of Adol? Why did they suddenly stop using it after Ys V, and how come it was removed from the remakes of Ys I & II? D:

Well, a version of it did show up in Alternative Saga and was even important enough to serve as a trailer BGM...
But as for normal Ys games, it's never been used in-game by Falcom for I or II to begin with so they didn't really remove it from their remakes. It was one of those 'in the code but unused' type songs that I has so many of. The PCE version is the only one where you actually hear it and they didn't make that one. Actually, the song almost made it into Complete since there's that unused opening medley that includes it.
As for why they haven't used the song (or an arrangement) since V, your guess is as good as mine. Personally I think they're just waiting for an appropriate moment to remind us that it exists, kinda like they did with Don't Go So Smoothly in Seven. Either that or they're holding back so when they remake Ys IV, the bit where Theme of Adol 1993 plays will be extra awesome.

Yeah, guess you're right. It's just kind of... odd not to hear it in Ys Seven after playing Ys Books I & II and Dawn of Ys. Feels like they should use it more often. If I had to say that any song in Ys Seven were to be called the 'Theme of Adol' it'd probably be To Reveal the Way to Go.
Don't know why, though. Might be because for some reason, whenever I try to hum the Theme of Adol 1993, I accidentally start humming To Reveal the Way to Go at around 54 seconds in. :U

Well, atleast they're still composing heroine themes (that sometimes double up as menu/OP themes!). Olha's isn't the best, but Tia's is equally as memorable as Feena's legendary theme. Karna's IS the best though.

Ys IV just had awesome music in general, but yeah.

Leeza's was pretty cool too, IIRC. Ys IV just had awesome heroine themes in general. -Tom Correct (THAT one doubled up as a town theme, IIRC!). And I prefer the Ys IV JDK Special version of Leeza tons more!

Well, that is since, Falcom, knows that they ended the original series on the, since that is where the original series started, on a NEC system. Y's V and SNES 4 games was made for the young hipty-hop crowd not no generation PC blah blah computer boy. The famicom, kiddy age, where everybody has a hard body, not for those Amiga types.
Out with the old, and in with the newtype. That was the end of all creatvitiy.

He's also ignoring the fact that Ys V had the Theme of Adol.
I think. It's hard to tell what he says.

No, all his Ys-related posts tend to amount to the exact same thing. 'Ys I-IV are the only true Ys games and only the PCE games count. I don't care that Falcom didn't make them and would tell me I'm insane if I tried making this argument to them. La la la, I can't hear you.' Anything beyond that is usually not worth trying to interpret.
