D: It's not about me not liking her! If someone else in the game spoke like that (and wasn't a noble or some upperclass in general), I'd be DDD:?!!? at him or her as well!
I don't dislike her as much as I dislike Lilia! They're both useless in their own way but Lilia was rage inducing! (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻
Anyway, this game reads a lot better than SEVEN despite some weird words!

Anyone else remap their buttons in Felghana?
I took one look at the layout and instantly dove for the controls config screen. I mean magic and jump are opposite each other making it a bitch to charge magic while jumping! I went for
[ ] - attack /\ - boost O - switch accessory X - jump R - magic L - switch magic select - warp (man I LOVE that I could map warp to a button!)
If nothing else, it lets me hold a magic charge while jumping and attacking... until my shitty shoulder button randomly decides to think I'm not holding R anymore. I've taken to using a right-handed deathgrip on R while playing Felghana.

[] - switch accessory /\ - switch magic O - jump X - attack R - boost L - magic select - warp
This is the most comfortable for me. Like you, I rushed to the config screen as soon as I got the chance.

I switched the attack and jump to O and X respectively and the triangle button ended up being the camp menu button.
Boost was linked to Start. ^^;
It's kind of annoying (but a minor hindrance) that button remapping doesn't affect menu access and navigation. Every time I go shopping or need to select something in the camp menu, I end up switching to X to confirm and O to exit. :|
I'm too AZN for X to be the confirmation and attack button. XD

Yeah your layout keeps talk/accept on X like default but years of platformer game design won't let my head get around the attack button being placed physically lower than the jump button.

It drives me INSANE that Kirby games use the up button for both jumping and flying. I mean, I guess it makes sense since you're heading upward but it's just so damn awkward to me. ^^ X will always be jump for me and I curse all developers and designers that map it to another key!

Well, in my initial game I was trying to get the controls to be as close to Napishtim's as possible, but it made some weird issues like accidently using magic whenever I exited the menu.
So, for my new game, I am coincidentally using the same layout as you, Schlag. This is perfect for me since I can now use both my sword and magic at the same time.

And yeah, don't like the X/O switch? Neither do I. But it's a Sony standard, so it's just what you gotta do to publish a game here now! Yeah, unfortunately. I'm certain though, if they decided to switch to the native Asian button layout early in the PlayStation days, everyone would eventually get used to it! Though I'd imagine a scant few dorks would be complaining that the configuration isn't old school or whatever the dumbass reason was for doing X for confirm and O to exit.

Just gotten the game in the mail a few hours ago. Just started playing and while I like what I see so far, I got to say, why isn't there the music from the SNES version? There's the music for the PC88 & X6800, but not the SNES version? why's that, if you don't mind me asking?

I wonder what Falcom's plans for her were originally for Oath in Felghana. These pictures shows her wielding a dagger and being in Elderm(?) mountains with Adol. She was gonna be a TOMBOY and kick ass like Karna. :D!

I remapped the buttons as well. As far as I'm concerned, if square isn't attack and X isn't jump, all y'all are crazy!! O was magic, then, and triangle was boost. And everything else was left alone. -Tom That was my Dual Shock layout when I played through the PC version and very nice, but one flaw that I noticed and never fixed was that I couldn't charge magic while attacking. So in PSP I finally fixed that and put magic on a shoulder button. I wonder what Falcom's plans for her were originally for Oath in Felghana. These pictures shows her wielding a dagger and being in Elderm(?) mountains with Adol. Whoa they were gonna make her into a real character! Awh crap now I can't stop thinking about what could have been. The more I look at that image the more I like it. She doesn't look on par with Karna (maybe it's the blue color scheme and the wounded scene) but at least it looks like she's willing to try to take things into her own hands and be active instead of the actual game where at most she tries to sacrifice herself instead of her brother. And the lower-left design reminds me of Shiris from Lodoss War, but in blue

Guess that explains the picture on the back of the game case of her holding the dagger.

I'm with wyrd on this one (except it's the PC version), and have a similar setup with Ys Seven, Ys VI and Ys Origin. Any other control scheme just wouldn't work for me; it's very similar to most of the games I've played growing up! Mario? "Y" for attacking (and running), "B" for jumping, and "A" for his spin-jump (which I use as scarcely). Kirby? "Y" for inhaling/using abilities/general attacks, "B" for jumping (flying), "A" to summon/cancel ability. Megaman? "Y" (Square) to shoot/charge/use special weapon, "B" (X) to jump, "A" (O) to dash. Super Metroid? Same thing, pretty much! The schemes are all very similar, so you get my point. It's what I'm most comfortable with! Also, nunuu: "Up" isn't jump in the Kirby games, unless you're counting the Smash Bros. titles (in which case, that can be turned off). It's "A" for the NES and Gameboy/Advance titles, "B" for the SNES titles, "A" for the 64 title, and so on and so forth. In some games, the jump button pressed twice will make him fly -- and "Up" pressed once simply starts the flying process. I agree though, I don't think "Up" should be used for anything (in side-scrollers and general platformers) but entering doors and making menu selections! I've *always* hated how fighting games have mapped jumping to "Up"!

Ooog. I think I meant the A button because jump being on the right button is super weird to me!
BTW ...
"The events of his distant past could hold the missing puzzle piece that gives valid context to all his actions."
And then Joel says something about being "uninvolved in the proceedings".
What exactly is this guy's background/upbringing?
Are you going to say that because he plays host and such at the restaurant that he should sound refined and intelligible as he encounters all sorts of people in his line of work?
Or maybe his dialogue is flowery due to his appearance?
:3!!!
(Oh, how fun this is. :DDD)

If that was your aim then Joel sticks out like a sore thumb. :B
I take it Deuce didn't take this approach? I'm actually very curious about his script. I guess I'll get around to installing Felghana PC again in the near future to experience the difference.

I thought the script and voice acting really spiced up the plot.
