PSP is totally easier than PC version between Katol giving you more than 1 HP per use and W-Boost alone.

Can anyone provide some tips for the second Chester fight? I'm trying to get through the Nightmare Boss Rush, and am having a hard time even getting to the second phase of the fight with a reasonable chunk of HP. It seems as though a lot of people use the Earth magic to help, but I still can't figure out a good way of evading him.
I'm doing this on the PC by the way, so I'm not sure if I should post this here, or in another thread, but oh well.

I just jump over the orbs when he's warping and shooting them all over the place. I mean, I take a hit sometimes, but the entire first phase of the battle is so predictable and easy you shouldn't get hit a single time (or is that just me?), so you have HP to spare for when he begins warping.

What screws me over is that goddamn barrier that forms after he does the thrust attack and the fact that he only seems to stagger from my attacks 50% of the time.

Ah, on PC you're kinda screwed. Tell me about it... Seems to me as though this should've been the boss to unlock Inferno (of course, I say this without knowing how tough Berhardt is =p). I just jump over the orbs when he's warping and shooting them all over the place. I mean, I take a hit sometimes, but the entire first phase of the battle is so predictable and easy you shouldn't get hit a single time (or is that just me?), so you have HP to spare for when he begins warping. For me, he has a tendency to jump to the middle after damaging him, and do one of those multi-directional shots, which catches me off guard. What screws me over is that goddamn barrier that forms after he does the thrust attack and the fact that he only seems to stagger from my attacks 50% of the time. Actually, that's pretty easy for me to avoid. It does catch me off guard occasionally, but that's one of the easier things to avoid, IMO. Well, I just managed to get him down to 1,200 HP. Oddly enough, his second phase seemed easier to deal with than his first one. >_>; I hope that wasn't just a fluke (edit: yep, it was =p)... EDIT: Finally got him!

Well, finally beat the Nightmare Boss Rush ("Nightmare" indeed), after a total of 12-13 hours. A little over 8.5 hours for the normal bosses (probably a record >_> , and 3.5 - 4.5 hours for Berhardt, who was definitely harder than the second Chester fight.

I think my total Nightmare Boss Rush time was just over four hours. Berhardt was around... I'unno. He only took me three tries.

It seems as though 3-4 hours is the norm for Nightmare Boss Rush. Half of those bosses I could've beaten sooner, but got screwed. Like Istersiva, I got lucky and managed to take it down, but got killed by one of those energy bombs right afterwards, so I had to restart. Took me a good couple hours before taking it down again. A few others I got close to killing, and then had a hard time getting back to that point for some reason.
Berhardt... I was mostly trying to cheese him, as the strategy I ended up winning with (lots of Earth magic, basically), wasn't working so well at first. Quite a long battle, but it worked.

Just beat the second secret boss (PC version), and I must say, I found it to be a lot easier than the other one. Actually, the hardest part was getting through the pre-fight, but the boss itself was fairly easy, so long as I still had the Spirit Necklace.
