Indeed. I shall SURMOUNT all the obstacles of online communication. Only if you do so anew, though! ;) Haha! I love these type of references. :) What references??? They're making fun of ME. :B

In that case, can somebody PM me the most... 'accurate' translations for each song title? :U

You sure? Because some things like "Next Step Towards Fame" sound really weird seeing as how every other version of the song uses "Walking the Path of Legend".

Which btw I have a new found love for. Such a cool track.

Man, I'm not one to praise Dawn of Ys, but this is really good stuff. In the Heat of Ignition/Inside the Scorching Blaze is still top tier.

Yeah, the music is pretty good. Still the weakest in the series after Napishtim, but that's still good by general standards.

I'm afraid not. I've listened to the Ys V soundtrack and it would not beg to differ.

Bah. You crazy, man. You crazy! At least you like it, though, even if it IS wildly misplaced in your rankings. -Tom This.

Oh man I love this music. HJ! Who raised you!? I didn't realize how underwhelmed I am by Valley of Quicksand. I'm used to listening to the Perfect version of it which is way more upbeat. One of the few cases where the Perfect version is definitely better.

You're the crazy ones! DoY has a few very good tracks to be sure, but so does Ys V (Field of Gale for example). And other games like Felghana and Ys I & II Chronicles have a ton of very good tracks, so they completely trounce it.
Speaking of Ys V, I'm really hoping they stay true to the musical style and remake the OST in an Ys Orchestra-style rather than simply JDK-ifying it when they remake the game.

If I knew how to record sound from an emulator, I would.

DoY has some AMAZING songs in it. If JDK got their hands on it, I would start leaking fluids from every orifice on my body. Probably won't make any friends by saying this.... but if they got their hands on Ys V's soundtrack, it'd probably be worth listening to. Someone put up a rock version of Fields of Gale on YouTube a while back and it was linked to on ALoY. That's an example of how those songs can be well done. Edit: Found it... www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vweoqo0aAgw

Ok, yeah, that'd be awesome. I guess Ys V's soundtrack bothers me because it doesn't sound like it fits with the rest of the series. It sounds more like Chrono Trigger or something like that.
Funny thing is even Ys V sounds good compared to other series.

You guys need to stop hating on the musical style just because it's not typical JDK. Do you hate songs like Palace from Ys I, too? That's one of my favorites!

I like Palace too... but when I'm playing through I feel it's overshadowed by Palace of Destruction. So there's my answer I guess.
