I don't think it would've been a good idea to just preview Renne as an ordinary and well dressed loli. Yes the scythe is a big hint to her real nature, but then people are like "why is she like that? why does she have that....not!innocent look on her face? What happened to her?"
Same thing with Floofy's picture. Why not entice people with "hey we've got Ace Combat Zero going on here. Care to see some awesome?" It might take away some of the impact of seeing the Ouroborus flagship in action for the first time, but you've gotta start somewhere.
As far as the Third spoilers go, I think it would be best for those particular scenes to be released as DVD specials or such, but not part of the original broadcast. Because yes they're interesting, but you don't need to see them to appreciate the first two chapters, and I have a feeling that the pacing will make or break this adaptation.
After all, the best teases are the slow but steady ones. You can't show everything at once!
There's a new long clip up on Nico. It gives a brief description of the setting (with a new arrangement of Sora no Kiseki of course), shows off the opening which should look and sound rather familiar, gives us the very end of FC and then cuts straight to the end of Chapter 1 of SC with a 'three months later' title. I suppose if you want to start things off with a bang it's a good way to do it Hopefully they're going to go back and cover some Prologue (and FC) events in flashback form at least.

That wasn't a link, silly, it was a review! I second Mizu's request. Don't suppose there's a Japanese sub floating around?
I know I should probably wait till I've played the games. . .but it'll be a few years till my Japanese is hard enough to penetrate them, so some early spoilers won't hurt! --SnK is the REASON I started learning Japanese, so my mouth is slavering for this!
He who gets screwed by tentacle monsters should see to it he does not become one.

So is the AVI I have of Sword of Desperation--complete with subtitles and furigana.
Believe it or not, most DVDs even come with the ability to turn on same-language subtitles. Television shows too! The first reasons that come to mind would be hearing impairment and rough dialects, but I'm sure there are others (like people who don't like to work at work).
//and I just remembered I was forced to watch the last six episodes of Ergo Proxy with an (obnoxiously large) English sub, despite the English VA. And A Liar and a Broken Girl had copies floating about with Jap subs. . . but no English.
And if you were wondering WHY I would care, it's simply because I understand Japanese better written than spoken (it requires quite a bit of pausing ). I'm evidently not the only one.
Seeing that they have to condense the major events of an 80 hour game into 1/60th that time I'm hardly surprised there are huge cuts and changes. A reasonably comprehensive treatment of the Prologue alone could have taken up half the runtime.
