Hello. I have a problem, and I'd like some help. I've installed Ys Origin and patched the game to version 1.1.0.0 (despite not understanding anything in japanese, I actually figured out that I had to inset the two other CD's at some point.) And I applied the english setup patch. But for some reason, it doesn't work. And also, whenever I load the game... It writes Disc (and then some japanese characters) on the title screen. And I see a little cd spinning... And the the only thing I can click is Exit. Does this mean I have to put a CD in ? 'cause I tried all three of them and I still can't get past the title screen. Why is this happening ?... I'm using Daemon's tools lite, by the way ;

First off, I'm fairly sure that the English setup patch does not work with any of the more recent official patches for the game. Secondly, if you had to use 3 CDs, then you must have gotten the NETSHOW (i.e. Chinese) version, which is fairly notorious for causing a lot of problems in and of itself. Thirdly, the spinning disc icon indicates that, yes, you need to insert a disc. And lastly, we do not condone the pirating of Falcom games here. While I realize it's possible that you do in fact own the Chinese version of Origin, I am slow to give the benefit of the doubt. I'm willing to help if necessary, however, don't think that I'll be able to shield you if you can't prove your ownership.
I don't mean to sound harsh, it's just board policy that I've learned the hard way. Trust me, I used to be on the same ship as you before it wrecked. ;P

I just... wanted to try the game before buying it ? Since I don't know a single thing in japanese.
And boy, am I happy to have downloaded it before I bought it. Geez, what would've happened if I couldn't have run it the same way this happened ?
That's why I downloaded it...
I know Falcom is a small company, so the last thing they need is pirating.
And even if it wasn't falcom, pirating just... isn't right.
But most times, I like to try a pc game before I buy it. Since you can't rent pc games for obvious reasons.

I'm using Daemon's tools lite, by the way ; And no, this wouldn't happen if you'd actually bought it.

I know exactly how you feel, Flame, but I can't help you publically. However, if we chat through PM...

While we're all entitled to our freedom of religion, I have to say that I personally don't believe that Jesus will shoot lightning bolts out of his eyes at my hard drive if I play downloaded games. I mean, Odin or Zeus, sure. . . but Jesus killed them in single combat in 642 AD, so I think it's safe. In fact, in Pastafarianism, ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pastafarianism ) the FSM actually condones piracy (it's an easier route to Apostlehood than martyrdom). That said, in my personal religion of pragmatism, I've actually had to download games I own because of problems with the physical copies. I've probably played more games illegally/LEGALY than I have illegally . But maybe the FSM was just in charge on those days. . . Oh, and if a video is sufficient as a rental, Blockbuster should tear down a third of each store to put up mini tvs instead. . . In fact, a video should suffice in lieu of playing it altogether. . . do the same to Gamestop. * *And no, I'm not condoning piracy at all! Especially of Falcom. Just poking some points!
