As much as their are a few decent things on it, I kinda hate playing things on PSP. I'd rather them be on 360. I'd say PS3, but I don't own one. Yet. Muweheh.

Blasphemy! ... Albeit very commonly-spoken blasphemy in the gaming world. Poor PSP. -Tom Bah, the DS has great games, no doubt, but, the PSP has the same amount if not more great games! The DS is soooooooo riddled with shovelware that it makes me sick! Whenever I'm looking thru a DS section at a game store, it's hard to find the good games cuz they're buried! Sorry, just had to say it, I used to love the DS, but, wow, the PSP has beaten it to a pulp gamewise, even if it doesn't sell as well, that means nothing, learned that a looooooooooong time ago. And keep in mind, I'm not saying the DS sucks, it doesn't, I still love it, but, IMHO the PSP blows it away these days, & has even more great games on the way. Off the top of my head, I can't think of anything even remotely interesting coming out for DS anytime soon. Ok, enuff ranting & derailing!

Ghost Trick, DQVI, Pokemon B/W.
Granted, the PSP has Ys Chronicles, Tactics Ogre and SnK coming out early next year too. I'm just saying the DS isn't done yet. And I hope you're not implying that the PSP isn't loaded down with terrible games too, because it certainly is.

Basically, all the things are equal, its the games that count. I just find that the PSP and DS are both uncomfortable, to be honest.

I'm not sure if I've played one yet personally, but I'm sure it has some utter crap! But I'm starting to discover more & more games that have been out for a couple years now for PSP, that are great, & plus, now it's a Falcom factory, & with soooo much stuff on the DS that's put on there just to play with the gimmick(I forget, there's a term for that type of game, the Wii is riddled with it too). My DS love is just dying in comparison to the PSP.

I don't own a PSP yet, and I've only played one game on it. . . but I think I prefer it all the same, just because there are more games I WANT to play. While I generally dislike handhelds, PSP seems more like a console system to me, both graphically and with its offerings. And it doesn't have any stupid gimmicks (not a stylus fan here).
That said, the DS does seem to have more RPGs, and while I think many of them are more handheld quality than "real game" quality, quite a few are very enjoyable, and the system has gotten many hours of my love.
However: Sora. No. Kiseki. Xseed. Falcom. Scale tips. DS seesaws, catapults into ocean.

There's apparently going to be some special edition of FFIV CC. DD: I have a feeling I will buy it. .___.

Does anyone think there is any chance of them including the voice acting from the DS game in this? I'm getting the feeling it won't be included, which, for me is a bummer, it's ridiculously rare for me to not enjoy voiced dialogue!

I just learnt about this yesterday and... I'm kind of tempted to actually pick it up. :'D I mean, it feels like yet another thousandth re-release of poor old FFIV (as ye all have mentioned above already, I would LOVE to see a remake of FFV [and even VI!]), and despite me loving that game loads, one hasn't been ever able to get past the Babel Tower area in the recent years (somehow.. I just stop playing then X'D). But~ the inclusion of the After Years in it is HIGHLY tempting! I want to play that! And see what happens in THAT story. Since... I don't have a Wii~~~~ (and so no downloadable stuff from that for an I~)
But wai! How slow am I in learning about stuffs these days?!
Also~ I kind of liked the voice acting in the DS version of FFIV. Infact, I kind of liked that one overall. It felt like a nice change, considering how much I'd overplayed and re-replayed the original 2d graphic-ed one. (Not that the DS version was great, great looking. :'D It just actually felt 'different'. Not just a 'same old SE-milky-port'.)

Sadly, After Years sucks. So unless they work some kind of magic on it, it's not worth buying this for.

Sadly, After Years sucks. So unless they work some kind of magic on it, it's not worth buying this for. Honestly, I was never interested in it when it was first announced for the Japanese mobile phone market and I'm still not interested. The whole concept of making a sequel for the game so many years later simply smelled like some sort of money-milking from fans. The only motivation I have for buying FFIV again is that it's FFIV. ^^ Also! I love both the DS and PSP but I seriously have more games for the DS than PSP (-- this is even with the Jolly Rogering factored in). XD My PSP collection mostly consists of games from Square Enix, Pentavision/PM Studios, and XSEED/Falcom. >_>; For me, there's just more stuff I want to play on the DS than PSP. :B

X'D FFIV felt like it had one of those 'perfect, fairytale endings'. Totally complete in it's own way. Nothing more to add onto it. Yet the stupid fangirl-y side of me, as 'ugh' as the idea of controlling the child of Cecil and Rosa seems to be, wants to see more of Kaaain~~~ X'''D And wants to know what happened next with him! *throws SE one's money to aid their milkings!* *stabbed*

I was beginning to feel so alone in my enjoyment of the DS version. So... about the Complete Collection... *SIGH* I'm buying this. I already know I will. I played some chapters of After Years and I know it does kind of suck, it's a grindy, second-verse-same-as-the-first rehash plot that feels like fanfiction (and not very good fanfiction, at times) ...but I will buy it. Because it's another iteration of FFIV, and it's portable- for the PSP. I love my PSP immensely. Damn you, Square. Why do you control my money?

I'll be getting this and hoping that the more sales any version of TAY gets increases the chance of Final Fantasy Legends getting a port to something that's not a mobile phone (it being a new game in the spirit of FFV, my favorite in the series). Also, I suspect they won't use the extra features from the GBA or DS versions, though they do appear to be using the latter's music arrangements.
