I wonder where exactly in Ruins of Amnesia you wanted to reach, but...
If you are under the "Slow" status (you can inflict that on yourself by equipping the Heavy Belt), you can DJC (same speed, but reduced height in the jumps) in any version of Ys VI.

If you check this video:

Our hero enters the area I'm talking about around 2:51-2:52.
Look at the Northern part of the screen around 3:03. You can dash-jump to those narrow little pillars like the one you see in the upper-right part of the screen - I've done it. But once I jump to one pillar, I can't keep going past that. I wanted to explore what was up there, among that row of narrow little pillars. It must be possible, in theory. As he continues to walk to the right, (3:07-3:09) you can see even see a mass of land up there, past the pillar! But I can never, ever, ever get there.
Around 3:30, we see how you would have to approach it from the RIGHT side - again, a narrow little pillar. And like I said, once I land on one of those, I can't dash-jump again. I don't have the room to do it without sliding right off the pillar during the dash.
Maybe I should head back there on an old save game and try some of your chain-advice. Is anything even up there?
Oh... Those pillars!
I have a tip that might be helpful: Hold down the L1 button (or whatever button that made you walk!). That will most likely solve your problem with the little space provided by the pillar. You'll be able to Dash Jump while standing still without "slipping" and falling from the pillar!
Additionally, by walking instead of running, you can position yourself a bit behind, to further ensure you'll have enough room to tap forward then Dash Jump.
No need for Dash Jump Chains, though!
Also, what I said above will likely be enough, but to get to those pillars you don't even necessarily need to use the Dash Jump; You can rather just use a mix of regular ground attacks + jump. The ground attacks will push you forward (and if you keep tilting the Analog Stick forward, you'll be pushed even farther ahead). To use it, you simply have to press the attack and jump buttons at the same time, then keep attacking midair.
Those shall do the trick.
Also, up there you'll find a treasure chest with a Capla Water, which heals your HP fully (and cures you from status ailments too, I think), as well as restores the MP of all your swords fully. That item is found in a limited amount in the game.
