Since the presence and absence of Ys IV music is concerning some people, this is a list of Ys IV Music that is 100% for sure in the game, as confirmed by YouTube uploads of the music or game footage:
Resurrection Ceremony The Dawn of Ys Promalock Romun Empire I Want to Be Kind Dungeon Battle #58 Lava Zone - A Kiss for Eldeel The Great Forest of Celceta Blazing Sword Wise Man Ancient Legend Sanctuary Eldeel Theme of Adol 1993 Harlequin's Temptation Lefance In the Fires of Ignition The Final, Decisive Battle Tower Crater

Once more, I must insist that Falcom make a set of bonus tracks (or an entire cd...) of all the Ys IV music that didn't make it into the game. Valley of Quicksand, Bronze District, Temple of the Sun...

Uh? I don't see any bad things on the Ys camera, neither. .-. I meant my video not Celceta. ^^; Man, all this talk about the music had me bust out the Ys IV PCE disc and hunt down the SPC to Mask of the Sun. For the same tunes that appear that I've heard that appear in all three games, I think I prefer the redbook versions although Promalock in Celceta is a fun listen. Does anyone have the PCM rips from DoY, BTW?

I don't own the game but I had a chance to listen to the soundtrack on Youtube. I still prefer the PCE Dawn of Ys sountrack <3

I want to download the Ys IV PC-Engine, but I think I'll have to wait until I'll know, at least, a middle of japanese.

Is the soundtrack "Theme of Adol '93" given a "music box" arrangement and is the only Celceta no Jukai arrangement available for that theme? And plays only at the title screen right?
In Ys Origin, the theme "Solomon Shrine" is arranged to a slow music-box like theme as opposed to the upbeat versions in Ys II eternal and Ys Turbo-Duo.
Was kinda expecting "theme of Adol" to have a similar role as "Boy with Wings" in YsF. Used in "between places" and being just as upbeat as "Boy with Wings".

Yeah I was hoping the same, since it's such a great song from the original games, but I'm more perplexed about the omission of some of other the key songs.

Just got to the place where The Dawn of Ys plays and ... I really don't like the way it sounds in this game. :(((
Also, crappy gameplay by me. <3 Witness my uncanny ability to attack air.
It's in HD!

For those of you that watch anime(any anime), what character from what anime would best represent Frida's character, personality wise?
Arcueid Brunestied's personaliy from Tsukihime comes to mind. Yet Frida's VA made me think that she might be more closer to Saber from Fate/Stay night.
Frida joins too late and I don't want to rush the game, Yet I am very curious as to which anime archetype Frida fits in. So I am interested in alternate examples/resemblances while I enjoy the game slowly.

Just encountered the giant man myself. XD I didn't check the spoilers a few posts up so I was surprised. ^^ Whew. 67.3% of the map uncovered but there's still so much more to do (I mean, for trophies).

Well, I don't have the game yet or read japanese for that matter, but what I gathered from the information released online is that is a knight who is kind of calm and good natured, and that she may have some kind of connection to Geis from Ys 6 and 7. Edit: If you want a specific character, the ex-love from Inuyasha comes to mind, but that may be completely wrong. Edit: Kikyo was her name. Although, if you're worried about putting effort into a character you won't use don't worry. If YsC is like Ys 7, you can progress most of the game not using a character and they will still finish the game at a respectable level. They give a % of experience you earn to non-active characters, and she will still probably end the game only a few levels lower than Adol.

I just got mine in the mail! Wooo!
I don't think I will order through Play Asia again, or at least if I'm in a hurry to get the game.

Wanna hug him. X3 I think until I will not learn at least, a middle of Japanese, I will not be able to play this game. ;^; Este: Uh? I ordered it at Play-Asia, and they send it to me 2 days earlier. It seems like it's very hard to predict when the game will arrive from Play Asia. I think they ship them fast, but the package has to wait a random amount of time to get onto a plane.

Here are some tips that can come in handy:
1. For weapon stat-ups, buy whole bunch of short swords (the cheapest sword in the game) at Casnan village and then upgrade them until they are +9 on everything (you can go for +8 on everything but that can get tricky). Upgrading one short sword completely (so it becomes short sword+72) should take no more than 1500 gold and some relatively cheap upgrade materials. Afterwards, go to the weapon shop in Selray (the town where you meet Ozma for the first time) and talk to the shopkeeper. Then, go to weapon upgrade (first thing on the menu) and pick the weapon you want to upgrade. For the upgrade material, choose the short sword+72 that you made and pay the price. Now, the weapon you want to upgrade will gain +4 in everything. If you add another short sword+72 to that (this will be quite costly for the higher tier weapons), the weapon will be +8 in everything. This can make the game really easy, even in nightmare mode since the weapon with +8 in everything will freeze, paralyze, poison, and blaze enemies very frequently (often at the same time!) while giving you +8 health back for each hit. As far as I know, this is the cheapest way to upgrade weapons.
2. Go to Governor Griselda whenever you get good map completion rate. She gives lots of gold and some nifty reward for every 10% of the map that gets uncovered.
3. Beware of status effects. There are two new ones added in addition to the ones from Ys Seven - curse (呪詛) and bad luck (不幸). Bad luck (不幸) is very harmful since your characters lose money whenever they get hit. Since this includes the other two party members that you are not controlling, you can lose a lot of money very quickly if they are afflicted with this status effect. Curse turns whatever attack your character receives into a critical hit and your cursed character cannot heal by standing still (even with the blessed robe) as long as he or she is cursed. Make sure you visit Komodo and go through the quest line with the accessory maker.
4. In higher difficulty, it is easier to earn money by getting rare drops and selling them. There is an accessory called silver axe (銀の斧) that you can make from the accessory store in Komodo that raises the rare item drop rate in addition to forming a party of slash, blunt, and piercing. Get three of those silver axes, equip them to each of your character and go hunting. Or if you want to go even further, just get three gold axes (金の斧) and equip those to your characters as well. Make sure you go to Governor Griselda for every 10% of the map you fill though. G-Pickard can also give lots of money and experience but I think they are very rare to come by.
