There's a good FAQ here www.gamefaqs.com/snes/564220-Ys-v-expert/faqsBut I think a basic understanding of Japanese is still really useful for playing Ys V. Slight mod here but I really want them to take Ys V to the end of the translation, it'd be great to find out about Stoker.

Actually, that would be me. I'm not kidding, I actually figured out that part without a FAQ. It wasn't until I got to the desert wilderness that I needed a FAQ.

Indeed it would! If anything, I still need to beat the PS2 version, lol. Well, someday I'll get around to it. For now, I have other priorities!

*nods* I'm certainly aware of the PS2 FAQs, thankfully. ^_^; I wouldn't have gotten as far as I did without them. The only thing that really stalls my progress, are the long dungeons.
The crazy amount of backtracking in Ys IV PS2 -- if I recall correctly, I saved *before* gaining teleport magic, and died in a cave. D: Having lost so much progress, I have put it down for a long period of time.
// Also, I wrote a FAQ for another Falcom game -- Romancia (FC).

Just as a side note, if you get stuck in a certain part of the desert in Ys V PS2, none of those FAQs at GameFAQs or elsewhere will help, but there's a thread in this section which helps people get through it.
