I sort of dropped off the face of the earth, but I HAD to come here to thank you!
This patch is amazing.
I've already played through it, several times, but you gave me just the excuse I needed to do so again! I finally get to play through it with the woman who introduced me to Ys (she refused to play till it was translated) and I can't wait!!!
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Try using the the replacement EXE from Neogaf that Turniphead mentioned. I had the same problem, and that fixed it for me.

After some messing around with the patch. I've figured out you should use the mediafire link. There are still a few typos but the item descriptions are MUCH better.

How can anything be better than "Offers some defense against extreme head"?

Good job guys. Will not be installing/playing this until after an update or 2. I want a near perfect patch haha... btw has this data disk always been called like that? I tried googling that but i can't find any info on it lol. Why not just call it using the known term (to me atleast) Extra Disc?

Because after releasing a disclaimer asserting the patch and group has nothing to do with piracy, they're already skirting a line revealing that in order for it to work you have to pirate additional content.
I assume that's why the necessity was so glibly mentioned in the readme, causing all the annoyin' errors.

Nygtigla's stone form is missing textures on the scales. I'm going to wait for a bugfix too. There are to many typos/text overflow/texture glitches.
And before anyone says anything my region is set to Japan Velagunder was textured so this is a new bug.

Sorry if thats not what you meant I thought it was available officially online. Got it from one of the threads here a year ago (can't remember the thread)

Well, Zaratus seemed to be onto something as far as fixing texture glitches goes. I also am considering waiting for an updated version of the patch, but I don't think I'll be able to hold back for over than a month. XD

Admittedly, I know nothing of the extra disc except where I got it, and that it fixed one of the problems I was having. I assumed though, that being a disk, it came with later versions of the game. Which would vindicate the fact that it's completely necessary for the patch to work, and yet, while it seems many people are unaware of it, its only mention was to "find it on the net,"rather than being included, or having a link to a text file saying where to download it. I would like to clarify that this is only speculation, and I by no means meant to incriminate Doppiapunta or his team in piracy, or anything of the sort. you mean applocale? I asked a question pertaining to that in the Random question thread, but haven't yet received a response. I'll go ahead and repeat it for exposure! Does applocale, in fact, require Japanese as an installed language on the OS? I ask because Windows Home Premium does not allow installation of language packs.

I mean something else: And well, Ys I & II, and Oath in Felghana are fine patched, but without AppLocale as well. Hrmm, actually... Oath in Felghana *did* have one missing texture, but a fix was found for that actually, even if an updated patch was never made. It was just a floor texture where you got the item that let you dash, only in that one spot. Lemme see if I can find the info on that... Yeah, OK, found the info on the fix. I'm gonna go ahead and email Doppiapunta with that info. Since Zaratus is going to e-mail doppi about it, I assume we can expect a fix sometime. I'll fill you in on the matter: There are 3 main versions of Ys ORIGIN: The Windows XP version, the Windows Vista version and the Windows 7 version. The XP one was naturally the very first one. But months after it came, Falcom was distributing an expansion of Ys ORIGIN called "Ys ORIGIN Extra Disc" for free (only shipping for the CD had to be paid), as long as people who bought the first version of Ys ORIGIN provided the code of their game, which is unique per copy, to Falcom. The Windows Vista and 7 versions, however, do not come with the Extra Disc, because they contain ALL the contents of the Extra Disc to begin with. So in actuality, despite what the "Read Me" says, you will ONLY need the Extra Disc if you own the first, XP version. Also, since the CD was distributed for free, as long as the game WAS bought, there's nothing wrong in searching and downloading it. That's why doppi mentions it. Hope that clears all doubt on that subject.

I didn't notice anything wrong with Nyltiger's stone textures. *shrug* Just beat Gelaldy and his were fine as well. Did catch a couple text overflows, but didn't think to take a screenshot of them. They tend to be when using the shell or conversations at the base though, haven't noticed any during actual plot events.
RE: The texture glitches. Using AppLocale is an easy enough workaround for now. It *seems* like it would be an easy enough fix, given what I found on it, but... never know. I'm not sure if he got the email yet though.
Really, the rest of the game is great so far. Overall, just minor stuff so far. Must... play... more...

Just a quick heads-up for anyone else that may be trying to catch all the typos, overflowing text boxes, and other such errors. I should be done with Yunica's route by tomorrow (currently beat it, but am working my way back up to the Flames of Guilt - am back to the Flooded Prison). There's a lot of stuff in just Yunica's route (most of it's minor though, and just "optional" things, barring a few exceptions), and I don't know when I'll get through the other two routes.
I'll get it sent to Doppiapunta sometime tomorrow (hopefully), but should I bother listing the errors I've found? There's quite a lot, and I've a feeling some of them may "overlap" in the other two story modes, though probably with subtle differences.

Just wanted to say thank you for the translation. Also, I have a question. Is the config utility supposed to be translated? Mine doesn't seem to be, and I can't read some of the options so I'm not sure what they are.

Yes, it should be translated. It seems patch doesn't recognize your config program.

Yes, it should be translated. It seems patch doesn't recognize your config program. I see. I'll try re-installing the game and patch to see if it fixes itself.

@ tohsaka You might need to replace your EXE file. What version is your game? You can get the correct EXE file from Neogaf

Well, the size of config program is just 8 kilobytes so if you have 1.1.0.0 version, I can upload it if you don't solve the problem. Does patch work for game?
