Item description for Lila Shell: Magic tool for the story was built on far-Ys. With that base keep in touch with Aeolian. this just sounds very machine translated. This is the description of the Lila Shell in my version (1.1.1.0): "A magic item, made in historical Ys. Enables one to keep contact with Eolia, who is back at the base." Aside from the ones you've listed, there have been other typos/missing words I've caught, but I didn't jot anything down (figured others would pick up on them, but I'll try and keep a list from here on out; am at the start of the Flames of Guilt). One I do remember is the opening scene with the Roda Tree (as Yunica), it tells you that Darm Tower is at the foot of Mr. something or other. Shouldn't that be "Mt."? Also, if you use the Lila Shell after getting the Water Dragon's Scale, some of Eolia's text goes offscreen. There was at least one other instance of this happening (though I think all of it could be read, it just wasn't neatly inside the text box), but I can't remember where. (Also, I don't know if this matters, but I ended up using the Mediafire download, as the link on Doppiapunta's site seemed to only give a text file about where to download it.)

Guess it would just be my luck, but after patching and starting the game I received the following error at runtime:
However, I don't think it is related to your patch, but rather the installation of the game itself after applying the two downloadable support patches from Falcom.
The error is:
Couldn't open file.(80ff0009h)->data\image\locus6.dds g_static.cpp(164)
Isn't a dds file some type of graphic format... Guess it's missing.
In more detal, this is a fresh install of the game with my anti-virus disabled in Windows XP version under Japanese language settings from the Windows Vista DVD version of the game (version 1.1.0.0), then upgraded by the two downloadble Falcom patches to make it version 1.1.0.3.)
The game runs fine at version 1.1.0.0. But after applying the patches and running it it again at version 1.1.0.3.) It gives me the error above...
Edit: Now that I'm re-reading your readme file, Doppiapunta, is the version 1.1.0.0. Ready to go out of the box with the extra disc already installed? What are the benefits of updating it with the two patches that Falcom has on their support page then if that happens to be the case?

I have the original launch release, patched with the extra disc. I too have a few item descriptions that seem very... awkwardly translated. Only a few things, not all of them.
Also, up to Velagunder as Hugo. For some reason, the boss's model has no textures and is just a blank white. The descriptions that aren't quite right are for the Barrier skill, the Lila shell, and the Blue Sky Wing. The rest (that I have so far) seem fine.
Did some experimenting to make sure Velagunder's missing texture was part of the patch. Just restored the data files, but not the .exe. All the text was gibberish except for those descriptions. Seems they're being pulled from the .exe for some reason. Velagunder's textures were still messed up too. Using the unpatched .exe, Velagunder's had his textures again.
Probably just some weird little differences in the different versions to blame.

I don't think I've ever been more excited at one time as I am right now.
Warriors Orochi 3 announced and YsO patch finally released? It's like I actually went to bed on time.

beat the game, minor spelling errors... although (its most likely me) the game crashes randomly, but the game usually loads you up right were you left off. Story is Coherent enough to fully understand it, We're probably gonna see a v1.1 release that fixes all those lil minor errors (Like Reah)

Sorry D, the patch won't apply. Anyway, my YSO game crashes after the intro on my PC anyway in all versions - emulator and official - and I dont wanna mess around with language compatibility stuff, update patches etc. Having tried everything I'll wait for your Win 7 patch.
The white shapes were in D's last translation of Ys VI but they don't seem to interfere with the game in any way.

Temptation to make a dirty joke about Yunica's duties towards the goddesses rising.

Tried with the 1.1.0.3 Patch and without it. Apparently without it, the game doesn't run (the error is not showed).

Hi Guys Thank you for all the kind comments and thanks to the ones who are reportin' me all the strange translations, typos or errors in the game. In a game with so much text it's normal to have some errors or typos even after btesting.
Now.. I'm quite disappointed since many users didn't read the READ-ME files that comes with the patch. Many users reported about installing troubles and when I read their description I understand that they didn't do the things as I wrote to do.
I'll try to be clear...since I'm quite getting bored of all the posts:
The patch is only one. There is no special win 7, vista or xp versions. It's only one. It can detect the game version installed on the end user pc and then it installs the right patch version. So it's compatible with Windows Xp, VISta and Windows 7( both 32 and 64 edition).
All the troubles that I saw reported here are generated since many users that had the 1.00 version updated the game by using the official 1100 patch released by Falcom.
This is not the correct thing to do.
The game has to be updated by using the Data Disk released by Falcom some yeras ago and that can be found easily on the net.
Infact the Data Disk together with updating the main executable to version 1.1.0.0. it adds two main archives ( data_1100.na and data_1100.ni) that contains the monster and characters descriptions...that is to say the game diaries and the graphics related to them).
The normal 1100 update patch only update the main executable but it doesn't add any of that archives.
So this is the reason of all your troubles... the patch detect 1100 version but in the end it is not able to updated the data_1100.na archive since it's not present.
Did you understand now?
This is the procedure for every single version...read well before posting other nonsense please:
for version 1.00:
1) Clean Installation of the game 2) Apply the Ys origin data Disk ( it will update to 1.100 and it will add the data_1100.na archive) 3) install the english translation
for veersion 1.1.00
1) Clean installation of the game 2) verify the data_1100.na and data_1100.ni are present in the "RELEASE" subfolder that is inside the YSO_WIn install folder 3) if files are not present apply Data Disk 4) install the english translation
for version 1.1.0.3:
1) Clean installation of the game 2) verify the data_1100.na and data_1100.ni are present in the "RELEASE" subfolder that is inside the YSO_WIn install folder 3) if files are not present apply Data Disk 4) Apply the Official 1103 update patch from falcom 5) install the english translation
for version 1.1.1.0:
1) Clean installation of the game 2) Installa the english translation patch
All the errors about data_1100.na not found, all the "v" and etc etc etc are because you updated the game with the Official 1100 patch and not with the Data Disk as I wrote in the READ_ME file.
I hope to be clear...
For the users reportin' typos or errors or weird translation please write them into txt files and the send them to me to the address specified at the end of the READ_ME file. Bye guys

Offers some defense against extreme head." ....I shit you not. <_< XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD I assume it's supposed to be "extreme heat" instead? Never played YsO before, though, so I'm not sure. Also, as long as the game's story and events can be very well-understood, even if not thoroughly to the utmost detail (at least not right now, from the looks of everyone's reports), then I'm a VERY happy person right now!! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!
