Oh, just to check, I tested it with the version that was being offered for free from GroupOn, and it doesn't work 100% with that version. It patches the data files, but not the .exe, probably because it's a slightly different version, as it has no CD check. So if anyone is trying to patch that version, that could be the cause of some of your issues. You can tell it didn't patch the .exe if your config program is still in japanese.
You might be able to replace the .EXE with another version's and it might work, considering it has all the other data files. Could be worth a shot at least.

About the GroupOn version, someone posted a replacement exe file on Neogaf, and it works fine with that.
Loving it so far, loads of thanks to everyone who worked on this!

Heh, just had to post this. Took a screenshot of the texture-less Velagunder, and noticed that Hugo's text is rather appropriate for it. i55.tinypic.com/vhtanp.pngAbout the GroupOn version, someone posted a replacement exe file on Neogaf, and it works fine with that. OK, found that. Gonna test that on my version just to see if that takes care of the minor bugs I have as well. Alright, nevermind, seems identical to what I already have, probably came off the patched original release, has the same issues with a few item descriptions and texture-less Velagunder.

That's probably because you aren't playing the game in Japanese Locale. The game will work fine, but missing textures and other external references are bound to happen if your os isn't in the language the game was made for. = ) Edit: There's also Applocale. Hope that helps! -Gerry

Honestly I'm not sure if this is a bug or if it's just a feature of Nightmare difficulty but all of the different crystal fragments seem to be giving me only 1 SP regardless of size...can anyone confirm/deny? D:
V1.1.0.0 if it matters

Applocale does indeed solve the texture problem.
So it is recommended to play the game through applocale at all times.

Playing it *unpatched*, if you don't use AppLocale, it just shuts down there instead. And well, Ys I & II, and Oath in Felghana are fine patched, but without AppLocale as well. Hrmm, actually... Oath in Felghana *did* have one missing texture, but a fix was found for that actually, even if an updated patch was never made. It was just a floor texture where you got the item that let you dash, only in that one spot. Lemme see if I can find the info on that... Yeah, OK, found the info on the fix. I'm gonna go ahead and email Doppiapunta with that info. For now, can just run through AppLocale though.

I waited for so long and i still can't play it, what AM I DOING WRONG XD. I got XP: FRESH game reinstall: to 1.0.0.0 or w/e Install Extra Disc wich upgrades it to 1.1.0.0 Install the magnificent english patch and play right? It's not like i get any errors, but when i enter the game it's STILL IN JAPANESE !!! xD EDIT: Pff nevermind, the autodetect thing was installing the files in the wrong spot, good thing i noticed. It was : Ys Origin/Release/ Blabla It was ment to be Ys Origin/Yso_win/Release So i fixed my problem xD. Leave it here in case someone does the same mistake . EDIT2: Again...damn it. I was overjoyed that i got my translations running in the menu and opening sequence ...to be then dissapointed when the opening ended as the game crashes every time.

Hey, just stopping by to congratulate y'all. I'm proud of you guys! I won't be playing this any time soon, but I know some guys who certainly will. And, well, I may play it eventually.
Anyway! I've only heard good things, and I'm sure it is excellent.
Good job, Doppi. Good job, crew.

I was able to get the patch to work fine with the Windows XP version of the game at 1.1.0.0. Updating with the other patches that I had originally believed to be enhancements were as Doppiapunta pointed out, only meant for having it run on other OS like Vista and Windows 7.
Great job Doppiapunta. I'm really enjoying the translation and the font selections you and your team picked out. Now if only I had some more time to really sit down and do nothing but eat, sleep and play Origin. : )
Thanks again!

There is a moment in the translation which makes me feel strange. English isn't my native language so... Is it ok for Feena to say "Thank goodness"?
