Hey, if this type of discussion isn't allowed, I'll understand. But just for those ROM happy people, does anyone know how to INSERT music into a ROM? I have the Megaman X3 ROM and I was listening to some redone BGM on a collection cd of theirs. I figure it would be fun to play the game listening to the re-done music. Thing is, I don't want to start up winamp and play it as I go along playing the ROM. I want THAT music IN the ROM to replace the original BGM. Is this asking too much? I didn't know where to post this so I figured the Gamer's Realm would be a suitable place. Any help would be appreciated. I hope I don't have to hack all day and night for an answer, it's not worth THAT much trouble.

You can't play CD-audio through a SNES sound chip. Instead, get the Sega Saturn of Mega Man X3, dump it, and then replace the audio tracks with the ones from your CD. Very easy. What you want to do with the SNES game is impossible / extremely hard.

Right on, I didn't even know there was a Sega Saturn version of Mega Man X3, what a fan, huh? I'm still a noob when it comes to this stuff though, I'm barely getting into it, but I'm a fast learner . Any help on this?

Ignore the Playstation one. (It does not have seperate audio tracks.)
Get the Saturn version, dump it (data [ISO] and audio seperately). Replace the audio tracks with your music CD, edit the cue if necessary. Burn away. I am not sure if Mega Man X3 works on an emulator, but it sure as hell works on a real Saturn (however, it was only released in Europe [and Japan - but you don't want that one] - so you'll have to change the region with Sega Saturn Country Code Converter or Satheader.)

There was also a rumored 3DO version, but I have yet to find it, still looking, despite the fact it either doesn't exist, or was never released.

Those posts didn't happen to be spam, did they? A moderator might have removed them. This is just a suggestion though. I couldn't possibly think of any other reason for posts to dissapear like that! (No offense).

Hahaha, naw, it's nothing like that . I was just puting a post similar to the one I just left, and it dissapeared after a bit, how weird, I'm going to stop posting from college grrr..... Back on Topic: Would it be bad if I went ahead and picked up the Japanese version for the Sega Saturn because I figure since I live in the US, I'm going to have problems with the PAL version anyways with the PRB(Picture Rolling Problem). I got lucky with REZ(PS2) but ran into the problem with Guilty Gear X(PS2). Besides, it's more readily available .

It shouldn't be a problem as long as you dump it on your computer, change the region with Sega Saturn Country Code Converter or Satheader, then burn it to a cd-r and play it on your NTSC Sega Saturn. The Japanese one is in Japanese (of course) and I think you'd prefer to play it in English, right?

Well,yea....but wouldn't that Picture rolling problem occur ? I wouldn't want to deal with that . I wouldn't mind japanese either since I've played through the game a couple of times already. Oh, btw, is there a difference in the BGM quality wise between the Saturn and SNES version? I would assume that since Saturn version is on CD.

Actually, that's one of the main dissapointments in the Sega Saturn version (actually - there are many).
1. The music quality is only a little better than the SNES version.
2. The game's not even using the full screen! It has black borders on the top and the bottom of the screen, INCLUDING the left and right sides of the screen!
3. The graphics aren't improved at all - it looks just like the SNES version.
If you want to play Mega Man on Sega Saturn, I suggest Mega Man 8 since it's using the full power (well, sort of) of the Sega Saturn. And also because it's a great game.

Oh wow. That kinda sucks... . Well, I have Mega Man 8 on the PS2 , it is a great game, although the voice acting is something to laugh at. I noticed that in the X5 and X6 they left it to japanese voice acting, well, most of it, heh heh. Hmmm..... Well, I guess I'll just have to wait then until I can't find anything more important to blow my money on then . Oh, btw, I listened to the Rockman X1-6 5CD Collection, since I'm selling those , and I did find two different versions of the Megaman X3 game on there. I was.......perplexed. I figured it was just an arrange album or something that they threw on there, but then I wondered why they didn't do one for X and X2. Now I'm guessing the second version is from the Sega Saturn port of it. Am I right?

You might have to do a little searching on this forum, but I remember reading a thread somewhere about how to do that. They basically replaced the music files but there were some little details that I think they mentioned also, I forget >_<...

Hey, Seldane, do you know how to change the Title of this Thread, is that possible, I'd like to change it to something more Megaman-ish since this is probably going to become an all-around megaman thread.... . *On the topic of Megaman* I dunno why, but does the music of Megaman X appeal to you guys more than the X2 and X3 games. It seems like they lagged on BGM. It seems to be the one with more "feeling" I guess.....or is it just me ?

Sure. Just edit your first post in this thread. Or if that doesn't work, tell me the name and I'll change it for you.
Otherwise, you can just make a new thread, that's just about Mega Man.

I never even knew that they had a Playstation remake for X3. I think I mentioned that earlier eh....^^'''. Maybe it was that awful so I never heard about it. X2 wasn't my cup of tea either, so I stick with Megaman X. Does anyone know if there's a rock rendition somewhere for Megaman X BGM ;P?
