Exile sort of is an RPG, it's a hack n' slash with RPG elements, you go to towns, talk to people, buy medicines, weaons, etc, but the fighting is all in real time, from left to right kinda like the Legedary Axe games.

Plus, you can finish it in only a few hours if you go non-stop. I've done it in about...five, I think. Maybe six. It's been a while, and my kitchen's too messy to go in there and play it again. XP So...yeah...it has lots of RPG elements, but...feels more like an adventure game. Plus, the storyline is a little shallow compared to most RPGs, although I do say it's more involving than any single Valis game. Either way, it's a great game, and I won't argue that. ^_^ v

Exile for Sega Genesis is an RPG (kinda like Shining the Holy Ark for Sega Saturn), but I don't know if it's releated to the Turbo games.

I guess. It just didn't feel deep enough to be an RPG.
Anyway, here's one that I've only heard from two sources: a friend and VGMusic.com. The game: Hiryuu no Ken. I dunno how many of you have heard of it, but I barely played it and it has an almost Fist of the North Star feel to it. At least in my opinion it does. Anyone else know about it (is sure someone does)?

Yeah. Valis was a cool series. Rogles is one of my favorite game villains of all time - not totally sure why, he looked cool, and he was the first boss the I ever saw discard his cape in battle (back before that was fairly common) which helped his cool factor. I liked how they brought him back in Valis III (Turbo Version), though I think they made him a little too easy to defeat.

Exile for Sega Genesis is an RPG (kinda like Shining the Holy Ark for Sega Saturn), but I don't know if it's releated to the Turbo games. The first Exile for Turbo is the full uncut version, the Genesis version apparently has some levels missing, as well as a town or 2, not to mention the cinemas, & the Turbo had cd music. But I haven't played far enough in the Gen version to see what really is missing. Exile 2 is a direct sequal. They are both RPG's, action RPG's. But, to me, it seems focused more on the action, then the RPG elements. If you've played the Turbo version, I'd say the story is actually quite deep, & thought provoking, especially for the time it came out. Maybe they messed with the translation for the Gen version. I wish they finished the 3rd game, which, would've been a Turbo exclusive, since I can't seem to find any info on it for the MSX. I'd like to check out those versions someday, not to mention the MSX versions of Valis 1-3(I don't think 4 made it to the MSX).

Glad you enjoy Spriggan, that game is one of my favorite shooters ever, up there with Gate of Thunder, & Lords of Thunder........and most of the Star Soldier series. BTW, there's a guy over at one of the PC Engine boards, contemplating, porting over the 1st 3 Castlevania's to the Turbo/PC Engine, with updated graphics & music. I "might" help him out on the music side of things, just depends on when he gets to it, & if I'm still swamped with musical projects with my Dev team

Megaman X8 definetely is a traditional megaman game. The game is pretty damn hard. I thought the metal gear solid level was a good idea. Waiting for that Megaman X Collection to hit the streets!
OH ya, Exile for Turbo Grafx is a very competent action/rpg. The colors used in making the graphics were exceptionally done and the music also is rememberable.

Ok, if I was considering getting a Turbo Grafx-16 or Turbo Duo before, I'm determined to get one now. Not only do a lot of the Genesis versions of these games seem to be missing levels, music, and more, there are a lot more good games on the Duo. Sure, the Genesis is a great console (I have over 50 games for mine, so I know that it is), but the Duo is also a nice investment. I'm gonna try to check out eBay, GameStop, and other retailers online for it, but if anyone can find me a really great deal on a Duo, please inform me. I'll also be looking for the following games/series: Valis Ys Exile Cadash Short list, I know, but I dunno that much about Duo games and such. Just those ported to the Genesis and other popular consoles of the day. I still think a Valis remake is too many years past due. I'm gonna have to set up some sort of revival topic somewhere...

There alot of great RPG's on the Turbo, as well as shooters. LMK what you are really into, & I can give you some hints as to what you might like. Also, you can check out www.pcecp.com, they list every Turbo/PC Engine game ever released, plus have some screenshots of each game. Also, there are more games coming out. I'm part of Frozen Utopia, we're going to release Mysterious Song, turn based RPG, in August, & we're working on Neutopia 3, an action RPG, & sequal to the 1st 2 Turbo Neutopia games. Here's our website frozenutopia.nodtveidt.net/index.html The Valis games & Ys games, I don't think are expensive like they used to be, Exile 1 is usually found really cheap, but the 2nd game is hard to come by, so it asks a much higher price unfortunatly. Cadash for the Turbo, is in some ways better then the Genesis version, in that it's more colorful, & I like the music better, not to mention you can play as the ninja or the priestess, which you can't in the Genesis version. But, at the same time, I feel the guys at Taito that brought it over to the Turbo, we're lazy, they could've done alot more with it on the Turbo, but, just didn't bother. It's still a great game though
