Finally getting around to playing this, and it's absolutely LOVELY! Whilst I'm doing so I might as well update (and maybe even finish off!) the GameFAQs guide. Would any of the translators, or the dev team who worked on the translation, mind if I used their translations to do so??
I would, obviously, acknowledge all the work you guys put into the translation!!

I don't see why there would be a problem with it.

You'd have thought. Some people get funny about that kind of thing. And while we're at it... If anybody knows all of Agnes' locations, and whether there's any pattern to what she offers you, please let me know

She offers you different things depending on her location and whether or not you've already bought from her at that location. She appears when you re-enter a screen where you have defeated every enemy -- she will not appear if there are enemies left standing.
I only recall her appearing in front of the Endless Corridor (SW location, the screen prior to the midboss -- and her first ever appearance), possibly in front of Xanadu Labyrinth, definitely within Xanadu Labyrinth (W room with a wavy rise-and-descend floor pattern, bridge overhead), and Strangerock Castle (There's a room east of the long outdoor passage with the fire-breathing griffon creatures -- east of the room full of undead, she'll appear on the upper passage)... ...but those are all I recall offhand. I haven't succeeded in finding every possible secret, surprisingly.

Ah, cheers dude OK, yeah that makes sense. I know at one point I thought she should have offered the Strength Fruit thing, but all she wanted to offer me was a black onyx :`( I guess you can miss some of the special items if you're not too careful.
Cool, thanks for that. Also got - Clover Ruins: In front of the waterfall. Inside the Endless Corridor just before one of the midbosses. Eaglet Mountain, near the switch to turn off/on the flamethrowers. Yeh, the game's actually got a few things hidden away very well!

I've finally got a new pc incoming and am looking forward to playing a lot of the Falcom games in my collection that I haven't gotten around to in a long time, including Xanadu Next of course. Will I have any problems playing these games that were compatible with XP? The oldest games I intend to install would be Sorcerian original and LoHIV which were for win98. Should I expect any issues? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Xanadu Next should be fine. Sorcerian, and LoHIV may have the color problems that Ys Complete has. So you May need to kill explorer before running Them. That is assuming you are running something newer than XP.

Hi guys ! I've started the game yesterday, and it's just amazing. I mean, I love it, the game is deep but doesn't go too far into that, graphs are pretty good, and story so far seems correct. So the game looks really fine... but I'm stucked. Sorry to ask you that, but I can't get that chest. It seems kinda stupid, but I'm here for ~30min, and I just can't figure that out. So if you have an idea, please tell me (if I'm in the wrong topic too ) Here's the puzzle :xMany thanks ! EDIT : Just found, that was so easy i couldn't see it. xD I'll continue playing now !

First of all, thanks for the wonderful patch. I have finished the game and it was entertaining, not that great of the game, but worth my time. Now I'm in search of things left to complete, one of them is to get the Silver Armour and the other being completion of World of the Dead. So, getting to my point, does someone know where is the last location of Agnes? I'm getting a hard time trying to find her and get the Forbidden Fruit. It's said that to get the Armour, first I need to purchase all the fruits she offers in various location, and I got five of them. The locations I know are: 1. Clover Ruins, near the waterfall. 2. Ancient Path 2 (Eternal Maze), the room with 2 gryphons and 3 or 4 mummies. You can get here traveling by the teleporter and going down your way. 3. Eaglet Mountain, the outdoor path with only one Ice Salamander. 4. Xanadu Laberynth, the zigzaging room, with goblins, except the master goblin. 5. Strangerock Castle, the room the midboss was. After beating it, 6 mage goblins appear there. 6. Dunno, this one is what I'd like to know. I read somewhere that it was inside Strangerock Castle, though. Thanks beforehand

Nevermind, just found it yesterday. Indeed it was in Strangerock Castle (East side), the room with fire dragons and harpies. Agnes will appear the upper part of the room, where you can jump down, so you'll have to go your way up there after beating the mobs.

So I've tried installing the patch on my new Windows 7 copy of the game and the entire patch goes through its installation process but doesn't seem to affect the game at all. I run the XNext UK executables for the game and config and none of it is translated. Checking the patch.log for the patch doesn't read anything weird so I'm assuming it's applied everything without realising anything has gone wrong, so what's going wrong? Does the patch only support the XP version of the game? Here's the patch log I got if you can see any errors in it: ========================================================== Tue 07/08/2012 Xanadu Next UK Translation patch v1.0 installation begins ==========================================================

So, after having finished the game and all, I got a plot-related question: How the hell did Liese live for 500 years?! Isn't there any clue Falcom left behind directly? The other people were petrified, so that's fine, but what about her? Makes no sense! Plus, people in Harlech throughout the years would know something is fishy about her since she didn't age... Of course, you can always speculate "Oh, she used some form of magic" or "Oh, it's because Galsis was sealed within her, granting her some kind of invincibility". But really, come on. :/

Recently I've finished Bonus Dungeon called "The Other Side". It was very tough, but the final boss there is easy. Here I recorded the video of this boss (Taros):

There was a dumb-downed English version released for the Nokia N-Gage. I've never had a chance to play it and compare it, but I think there are some major differences. It appears that this wikipedia entry is not referencing the actual release for PC and probably should be updated.

Since I'm already here and I'd rather not make a new thread for this, how do you get to the chest on the lone ledge in the spiral staircase area inside Xanadu Labyrinth? It's supposed to have a guardian in it.
I followed what one of the gamefaqs guides suggested, which is to jump from the floor above it down to it (winged boots can't reach it from the same level) but I can't reach it no matter how much I try. Of course I'm not wearing winged boots when I try this.
