Man, I 've been playing Namco's Tales Series since the snes version of Tales of Phantasia! I Love their battle system as well as the voice acting cuz wow, voice acting in snes is SUPER amazing, after that. I've been searching for all games that has the name "Tales of" X)
Well, anyone looking forward for the new Tales of game "Tales of Legendia" for PS2?

No Tales of Legendia, coz I own a cube. However I own and finished symphonia. and That a really good game. The graphics are quite cool with their animé shape. The combat are really nice, Namco feeling, brutal like soulcalibur. However I found the story not so incredible. a bit too long maybe.

I've only played Phantasia (in its untranslated Japanese glory when I was all 'hip' on playing Japanese RPGs since it was so darn easy to 'mod' my SNES) and Symphonia, and only recently got Eternia (not going to call it 'Destiny II' to avoid confusion with the real one). Eternia is more what I've come to expect out of the series... Symphonia kind of disappointed me somehow.

I love the SNES Tales of Phantasia and that soundtrack is unbelievable!! Don't get me started on that. I'm currently playing Symphonia but I had to take a break from that one to play Ys: The Oath in Felghana, but I'll get back to it soon. I rather like the music in Symphonia as well. Great character design in the Tales series also in my opinion. I also like how legendary composer Motoi Sakuraba has managed to stay involved in the series for so long. His compositions have a signature that is unmistakeable. I know a lot of his pieces sound similar, but it really works for me.

Symphonia is a prequel to Phantasia, as it takes place YEEEEEEAARS before the SNES classic.
Tales of Phantasia, Eternia, and Symphonia were all fantastic. Tales of Destiny... not so much. I also hear that ToDII (PS2) is pretty terrible. Pity we never got Rebirth or one of the THREE ToP versions. (GBA version would have been swell, Namco.) Can't wait for ToL, myself.

Just concepts, more than anything. I don't know if an actual number was ever decided, but it's likely that Symphonia takes place thousands upon thousands of years before Phantasia.
Some links between Symphonia and Phantasia include Derris Kharlan, Sylvarant, Tethe'Alla, Ygdrassil, etc.

I noticed there are a couple of music pieces from Phantasia that made it into Symphonia, and I suspect the other chapters have similar traits in regards to music. The soundtrack to Tales of Rebirth is freaking awesome too. One heck of a catchy battle and world map theme. I may just import Tales of rebirth.

Yeah, Tales of Rebirth is fun. It's too bad I never got to finish it though. Unfontently, the flip top my friend has just dosen't want to work with this game, so my only other option it to actually buy a jap PS2.

Hey, I bought a Japanese PS2 myself, it has come in handy for playing the Taito Ys remakes. I know next to nothing about PCs, except for playing Falcom games that is, so playing any console games on my PC was, and is still out of the question for me. Unfortunately, for me, blabla76, I'm not that far yet, time has not been on my side lately. I am playing it more now though.

Just use HDAdvance and a hard drive. Works with most games and it's just.... well, great! Faster loading times too!

I will probably get into PC gaming (besides Falcom)more as time goes on, but I have already bought many console systems before I got a PC, and I am quite backed up as far as RPGs go.
