I was wondering if anyone could help me out. Okay my little brother got me the limited edition Ys 6 and and oath for the Psp but am unable to play them because I hacked my psp to play homebrew. I tried downgrading the psp so I could update it to current firmware but wouldn't let me upgrade to 6.00 etc so I think the system might be bricked. At the moment I don't have enough money to buy a new one and I don't want to wait and buy the psp vista and have to buy the games again. Is there a way to fix my psp or should I just buy another one?

I don't remember too much from the psp scene but I think there was a pandora battery and magic stick combo floating around some years back. Might be able to help you. I think Dark Alex released his own version of it.

That was what I did when I hacked the psp but Dark Alex stopped making custom firmwares so the pandora could only go up to 5.50 I believe and the Ys games are like only playable with firmware over like 6.00.

If your PSP turns on and works, you'll have to download ISO_Tool to rip your copies of Ys 6 and OiF to ISO format, then patch them.

You could always install Prometheus. With that, you don't have to patch ISOs, or even bother ripping your PSP games; you'll be able to play them directly off of the UMD, without upgrading.

I agree with Unsavory's method, Prometheus and I believe it was called Arti's ISO xLoader plugin program work very well with my PSP GO running 6.20 CFW. I primarily use the GO with my HDTV and PS3 Dualshock, so I've ripped my entire UMD library for it by using a PSP-1000 running UMD mode in VSH Menu and simply copying the UMDs that I own from USB mode. Just about all of the UMDs I've personally ripped work well, the only one that didn't work for me was Ys I & II Chronicles, which seem to start the game's menu, but not start either Ys I or Ys II. Still, it works great for most ISOs and my wife has found it much easier to play Zero no Kiseki using the Dual Shock.
If you can find a PSP GO still that is able to be downgraded to 6.20, that is definitely one heck of a great system for having 32 gigs of space to play with that can easily be hooked to a dock charger and output to television with Dual Shock support.
