...how did I not know this game even existed? Ah well, now I know and I'll get to support XSEED by picking up a copy so everything works out.

I saw the news and said out loud "Well fucking done Xseed!"
Still curious on the "other" news of Xseed being registered on Steam.

I saw the news and said out loud "Well fucking done XSEED!" Still curious on the "other" news of XSEED being registered on Steam. Arrghh, I really don't like the sound of that. While I want TitS SC, I just soooooooo much want it on the PSP, not the PC. I want a real physical copy.....not to mention on the same game system......& just not on a PC. I'm not comfortable gaming on my pc, it's at a desk with a chair made for sitting, not for relaxing....ofcoarse, I'm just one person And I'm venting. I suppose if they go that route, I'll just have to buy the Steam release, & then try to atleast track down the Jp PSP release to ease myself.

I speculate that if XSEED is to release games on Steam, that they will be either ports (in addition to their console/handheld releases -- such as a Chinese (IIRC) port of Ys Seven for the PC), or (like Corpse Party) games that they would like to release at the lowest risk possible. I don't believe that this will affect whether or not their games are released on their native system(s), especially since there are already services similar to Steam for (correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that this is without exception, to the best of my knowledge) every next-gen system -- whether announced, or presently available.

Hmm, good points! Actually, if they ported over the Chinese PC version of Ys Seven, I'd play that, since I already have the PSP version. Oh, & I'll be getting Last Story.

Great news about The Last Story. Will XSEED be keeping the localization and voices from the European release? IGN says they're pretty good.
As for TitS, I'd love to get the original PC versions on Steam.

I'm with Mp83.
Brandish was localized once before back on the super nintendo just as was Ys, and as opposed to many RPGs of its time, did terribly in the west.
If you ask many a west rpg fan if they've played Brandish, you would be surprised how very few know about that classic game. Much less its Sequels, such as Brandish 2: The Planet Buster.
In fact, i'm surprised that both you and Mp know about it! For years I thought I was the only one left that did in the west! xD

Licensing The Last Story is cool and all... but I'd rather they announce Trials in the Sky Second Chapter already!

Well, I was content to let my Wii continue to gather dust since Nintendo was content to leave this one in Europe, but with Xseed involved I'm going to need to get a new duster! Color me excited!

I'm glad that XSEED is bringing this last shining star to the US before the Wii U comes out.

I was hugely disappointed with the game myself, but it's really quite interesting in many ways, and I think it definitely deserves a go in the US market. Many props to XSEED for snagging such a high profile title! It's amazing that in less than ten years, they've grown to the point where they're now working with the father of Final Fantasy. ^^
