There is a few version of Ys II that I never bother getting, but you know having voices acting, will probably encourage to find it. So with a debate who your favorite Ys voice actor? Just a random list of complilations. Seems like Falcom can never keep a consistent list of actors per game.

None of them!
(I would say Adol, but I fear some English TCD release where he did say something)

I don't like voice acting in my games, even if it's considered good voice acting. Because nothing can beat my imagination. (It's so sad that voice acting is being demanded and done more and more to me ) So thank goodness two Falcom games I've tried so far (Ys Oath & Trails in the Sky) have the option to turn off voice acting. Hope most, if not all, Falcom games are like this (actually & sadly, Ys IV PCE only has voice acting for the FMV scenes + no dialog to read. So for this I will have to make an exception and be very thankful that there is a fan dub for it... having to use an online script to read along is a total buzz killer).

I almost never like voice acting in western games. 99.999999999% of the time it's plain **** in comparison to their Japanese counterparts (and plain **** when there isn't a Japanese counterpart as well).

By the way, amongst that 0.000000001% that is AMAZING is the narrator of the intro of Ys Book I & II. That guy is... beyond what any Japanese (or other western or anyone) narrator can ever possibly show in any game.
Ys Book I & II overall had very, very good voice acting. Overall, not, you know, perfect, but really good stuff. (Unlike Ys III PCE, sadly. That's what happens when lowering the budget in a project...)
And Ys VI PS2 was very nice, as well, although that's something half agrees with and the other half disagrees.

Also, I might add, he did Darm as well. And the name of that actor, is the great Alan Oppenheimer! www.imdb.com/name/nm0649178/I'm actualy gonna base my narration in Ys 4 on his narration of Ys 1 & 2.....though, I'm sure mine won't be anywhere near as good, but I'll do my best!

Of course, Tesshô Genda, Dogi´s seiyuu from the anime, who even did the voice of another of my most fav characters, Optimus Prime. He just fix Dogi.
For what I saw at Wikipedie, he is a total eminence in seiyuu´s world.
