I don't know if anyone has noticed, playing Ys and all, but Shadow of the Colossus came out today. I must say, if you don't invest your time and money with this game, you're making a big mistake. Already fought seven of the colossi, and it has been one of the greatest, elegant experiences in my gaming life. Hopefully, someone else here has gotten this brilliant game and would like to share his/her experiences as well. G'night, everybody!!
Note to self: having extensive "gaming life" = virgin

Depends. What didn't you like about Ico?
Major differences I can think of:
1. No helpless tag-along
2. Horse gets you around fast and takes care of itself
3. No shadow enemies

Is this "Wanda and the Colossus"? I haven't heard about it since 2004. It seems like they changed the title. Seems interesting. Do you really climb around on huge beasts? Odd concept. I am playing Ico right now, acutally.

Hmmm. Had no idea she was supposed to be blind. Would have made it fun to jump across a cliff and call her to you when frustrated. hee hee.

Favorite one so far: The 5th
Had to be the most exciting one as of yet, although the one I'm on now was my favorite from all the preview videos (13th)

Beat it. Outstanding ending. Best thing, though, was that friends said watching the game was like watching a movie, and not meaning like Xenosaga! Can't wait to try time attack and hard mode!!

Picked it up. Played for 30 minutes. Put it down. Blah graphics. Brilliant music, so far. Wonky camera and horse controls. Cool "boss fights". Went back to playing Fire Emblem PoR and Shining Force Neo. I'll probably pick it up again when I'm more in the mood for an adventure game, which I'm so not, right now, unfortunately. Thankfully, it's nothing like ICO so far, which I too hated. Though, there was a bit in the VERY beginning where more of those horrid shadow creatures manifested. But then they disappeared, as part of a cinematic. I think the creators put them in there to scare those of that thought the combat in ICO was an atrocity (which it was!!)

Shoot, this sounds really good, and I didn't play ICO, so it will be a brand new experience for me. Thanks for the recommendations, I may just check it out.

The two games may have been done by the same folks, but ICO and SotC are nothing alike and have nothing to do with each other (to my knowledge). No one here should base the purchase of one of the games off the other, is what I'm saying.

Ahhh, I got it yesterday and am loving it. I'm on the 5th colossus right now. I'll be picking up the soundtrack when it comes out.
It would be really cool if they released nice good sized, high quality figurines/models/sculptures from this game. Some of these colossi would look really cool in my studio room.

Shadow of the Colossus is a video game master piece. When your character is allowed to face giants of extroadinary size it just makes gameplay even more exciting. The landscapes looks so reall like somebody took a picture. It must have been an artist that designed this game because it is an extremely beautiful design. I have only scene the demo but I bet the colossus get even larger.

the game is awesome. however it is really short and not to hard my brother Shawn beat it the same day within about 8 to 9 hours, so it is a tad bit on the easy side. the Colossus are quite cool these is 1 or 2 small ones but most are incredible. chris

Broke down and bought this game today, and even passed up the new Castlevania: Curse of Darkness in favor of this one. Loving it so far! It is addicting trying to beat these darn giants. Awesomely epic soundtrack to match the ferocious battles too. I will definitely be buying that music when it hits. Thanks for the recommendations everyone, this game rocks!

After playing for a few hours, I just uninstalled the new Castlevania from my PS2 hdd. The game is completely awful. You did well by skipping it.

It may actually be worse than the last one, Lament of Innocence. In particularly, anyone migrating to Curse of Darkness from the sexy high that is Dawn of Sorrow (NDS), will be absolutely crushed into submission by CoD's sh-ttiness. :/

Bought into the hype and bought this game. Quite impressed! Just defeated my second Colossi, will probably play more tomorrow. Very good feel to the game! Reminds me of the first Tomb Raider where you can spend long sections with not much "excitement" and just enjoy the atmosphere.
I never played Ico, but depending on how addicted I get to this I might have to check that one out as well.
