Been reading too many books lately so haven't spent a lot of quality video game time for awhile, but I've now gone through the first 6. This game is AMAZING.
The flying one (fifth) was my favorite so far.

After I got the cd I listened constantly. Really inspirational, epic quality compositions. I also like how in the game you can't just run up and kill these things. They require thinking, planning, and patience.

I stopped playing Shadow of the Colossus a while ago since I couldn't beat about 5 of the colossi on Hard Time Attack. Though after reading this topic I'm itching to go back. It's such an incredible game.

am I the only one who was really bothered by the framerate in this game? I have a serious problem with games that doesn't run smooth and this one had serious problems. Sure it looks good on still pictures but I think they should have backed down a little on the details to improve the framerate.
But other than that, the game looked really nice!

There have been many posts praising Shadows of the Colossus in this thread. This is one of them. I loved this game like I love a good cup a tea. And I love my tea, I tell you what. The ambguities behind the story are something that I, personally, dig on. And I love how it matures from simplicity itself to something more complex. The gameplay is just fun times for me; I love having to be creative to defeat a boss. The environment itself is just pretty, and a joy to roam about in. And, let us face it. Wander is a hardcore guy. I suspect he could defeat a Katamari. Also: The Aerial battles are my favorite

has anybody been able to reach the Secret Garden in this game. I can climb over half way to the top but then cant make a certain jump and lose grip to fall in demise.

I believe the Secret Garden and the 17th Colosus was simply a hoax spread by the GameFaqs virus. But if there is something to it like a place to climb up to, then I haven't seen it yet. Where is the starting point in which to start climbing to the top?

Thanks for the info! Incredibly awesome game, the final battle still scares the heck out of me. Nothing like a faceful of high-powered plasma to make approaching a thirty-story living building a thing of legend, eh?

I had such horrible luck with the final battle. =(
Got it down to like a 1/50th health, and it bucked me off, and sent me all the way down, where I rolled back into its firing range. Took me about an hour to get back up there; it'd always shake me off right when I was aiming the bow. =(

I got to the secret garden and there isnt much to do but each fruit that diminishes your health. I cant seem to find a way to climb all the way to the top of the tower. As far as I know there isnt a way to do it.
