An old friend of us YsOLers (Nuku) contacted MP83 3 or so days back that he discovered recently Ys Online is still not dead.
There's a taiwanese version up still!
For those who don't know, that korean game got released in: Korea, Japan, Europe and China. And Taiwan. The servers for all of those have long been closed by now, except Taiwan's, which uses the Chinese language. But from the looks of it, the servers are... very non-populous, and having seen Ys Online closing in front of me 2 times, I know that this server won't last beyond this year of 2012.
So if any of you guys ever intended to, but never could see, feel and play SOME of Ys Online with your own two hands, NOW is the time to. Or never. Or until people start creating private servers of it.
The cool thing about this server, though, VERY unlike its late japanese counterpart, is that people from all over the world are welcome. There's even a page in English dedicated for English speakers, stating that people outside Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and some other place I never heard of, can use Paypal for buying Cash Shop stuff. (For people of those specified regions above, they can't.)
There's no IP block.
Registration is the easiest I have ever seen anywhere: Specify ID, pass, reconfirm pass, mention e-mail, then input anti-spam check code. Done! No need to check your email even!
After that, you have to select Ys Online as the game you are intending to play. After registering, you'll be precisely 2 clicks away from that.
Login is done in-game.
So, back to business.
This is the main site: Ys.wasabii.com.tw/
This is their download page, where you have the option to download the installer directly or through BitTorrent, where I recommend the latter: Ys.wasabii.com.tw/ys_download/download_A.shtml
Registration page: Click!
(Be sure to check the checkbox at the end of the form.)
After registration, follow these easy steps:

Lastly, but not least: for anyone intending to try YsOL TW, I recommend checking or even announcing somewhere like in the spam thread or MP83's livestream channel or even my own to see if more people are available/would like to play with you, because this game alone isn't... fun, at best. Especially without being familiar with everything, not to mention the language barrier (kinda like Japanese, but without hiragana and katakana to save your rear end), so... with others you'll boost the enjoyability significantly. Remember that.
Oh, and for the curious souls, this seems to have reached near where JP server stopped, with very few things not having made into it yet. Nothing major, that's for sure. I.e.: a special instance dungeon in the main Eresian town. But there is an item or the other I have never seen anywhere in any version, as well.
Now, enjoy the 5th, last Ys Online server!
P.S.: If anyone has any question pertaining the game (engine, gameplay, classes, PVP, PVE, instance dungeons, equipment, level etc.), feel free to ask it in this very thread.
