I picked Final Fantasy VII, because I thought the game was more fun and it brought out the bravery, wisdom, and spirit within me. Final Fantasy IV is also a very good game! I think Final Fantasy VII is just a little bit better though.

I went with Final Fantasy IV! Even though I really like FF VII, FF IV has, for me, one of Uematsu's greatest scores. I am also a huge fan of Yoshitaka Amano's FF character design work.

IV? or was that VI?
Well to me it's either VI or VII with their heartwrenching storylines being the main reason (I wish Kefka was more fleshed out and at least as symphatetic as Sephiroth).
As for IV, believe it or not it comes at third place in my Final Fantasy list because of the atmosphere created by the characters, storyline, designs, and music put together ^^

If we all liked the same thing, there would prolly be a real shortage of quality games to choose from.

Don't moderators have really big sticks for taking care of people like that?

Totally ok with me if you're not a big fan of Final Fantasy, and while I'm at it, FF VI is my favorite, but that wasn't a poll choice. I'm waiting for the day I can see Dancing Mad performed live. I saw The Opera Scene at this year's More Friends FF Concert. My life is almost complete now! It's time to pull out all the stops and let us have it Nobuo. I guess if I had to I would fly to Japan to see Dancing Mad live.

Who knows when your karma will decrease because of expressing your personal opinions. Hey, I'm the guy with the sticks here and I don't like Final Fantasy either. I should exalt you! *smites*

Well depends. I loved FF VI (had great time with a snes swiched), the FF on gameboy. I even bought FF VII on PC (and finished it) But it definetely not anymore a must by. Feel deceive from their new design. I prefer anime type RPG, more friendly and addic<tive in my opinion. However a remake of VI episode would be great.

To reply to blabla76 the remake of 6 is on its way for gba (as well as 5 (gba)and 3 for DS) and Honestly I cant answer this poll. The story in both games is phenomenal and the music (staying within its time) is just incredible. Im really not to sure what to say. Im playing the gba port for IV right now and im very happy with it...made me feel 10 again haha. Yet on the other hand every few years i play a bit of 7....i love the sequel movie and the little anime cartoon that came with it...im really on the fence. While ff 4 will always have a place of nostalgia in my heart due to the fact it was one of my first rpgs that i played more than twice, final fantasy 7 blew me away and still does by todays standards. Todays games lack story because billy and his idiot cousin are content with madden 2012 and the new super cool first person shooter with more blood..more boobs and no story...perfect for morons. I got to play ff7 the day before it came out (thanx mom:video store manager!!) and i even took the day off of school. Cant say id do that for most other games except for a few in the ff series, most in the Ys series and of course a zone of the enders game...but thats not happening haha.

IV and VII are an unfair comparison, IMHO. There's just too much of a divide (and I'm not talking about time-difference) between them. FFIV, in many ways, was the beginning of Square's attempt that solid story work and character development.
VI and VII would be a MUCH better comparison.

The GBA remake of IV doesn't really seem like a remake, but it is still great, and a few neat things have been added, I'm playing it too. I say FF VI all the way as the best in the series, in my opinion. I still love FF VII too, and wish they would do a complete overhaul of it and VI. At least there is some effort to keep the old school alive.

Well I was talking a remake of the VI on home console (or PC, just dreaming...) with quite impressive graphics. In my opinion making remakes on gba = easy money for companies which are spending too much on new games... For the seven opus, I felt very deceive when my favorite character dispappeared on the first cd... On the VI, my favorites characters were there until the end of game (locke, seles...) and the time, quite middle aged was more "enchantment".

Hey if you guys are really into final fantasy 6 then I HIGHLY RECOMEND Romancing Saga 3 for super famicom. The graphic style is the same, the music surpasses ff6 in some areas, and man is that game HARD (which is good because I am sure were all too good for todays games haha).
Its very cheap to import (i can help with playing them on a us snes if need be) and the eng translated rom is very easy to find. Its nothing like the psone or pstwo saga series. To me the series ended on the snes. On a lighter note also give romancing saga for ps2 a try: its the romancing saga 1 (snes) remake!

Well, at least I'm more interested in it than I am in Derge of Cerberus.

I definitely want to see Advent Children, but I'll wait to check out the other FF VII spinoffs. I have A TON of other games to play, and thankfully Dragon Quest VIII has proven to be awesome for me.
I wish one day they would do a complete overhaul of FF VI. Just getting tired of seeing it released again and again without many changes at all. At least Dragon Quest has gotten considerable remake treatment over the years, with IV and V bieng COMPLETELY redone on consoles other than the ones they were originally released on.

Sakaguchi? What does he have to do with Crisis Core... didn't he leave SE sometime ago and start the new Mystwalker company?
I haven't watched Advent Children yet, but I've heard NOTHING but terrible things about it.
Thought his new babies are Blue Dragon and Cry On for the X360, and ASH for the Nintendo DS.

I heard the same thing about Sakaguchi, maybe he's hanging around a bit longer like Uematsu, who is travelling all over the world with FF & game music concerts.

I love IV and always had some disdain toward VII, mainly because I didn't care about the main characters. Except Aeris.

My favorite character in IV was definitely Rydia, mainly because of how they allowed her to grow and mature in such an awesome manner in the game.
As for VII, I liked Tifa a lot. I used to have a save file at the end of the game where Tifa had the Lucky 7's attack on the final boss. That was pretty cool. I am way more a fan of FF IV than VII, but I still liked VII a lot.
