The news post says: +Brand new Ys game. Ys 8 probably. +New Trails in the Sky game. You all know how confused I am with that so I don't know if it'll be LoH8 or another Kiseki or LoH8:Something no Kiseki. +Completely new game. Probably that new Vita IP they talked about in a TGS.
So now we know Falcom's got something up their sleeve after ZnK:Evo and YsC. Not hyped until we see stuff.

They've stopped numbering the Kiseki games. If they still did it, the next would presumably be LoH VIII but they don't, so it won't be. Kondo already mentioned they were working on the next main Kiseki title so that's not really news anyways.
A new IP is good. Been few years since we've had something that isn't Ys or Kiseki-related.

I bet Nayuta no Kiseki was going to be a new IP game, then they adapted it to "Kiseki-fy" it for sale boosts.

We need a The Legend of Xanadu remake ala Felghana's style (that includes music)

With Adol as a secret unlockable character.

That's great to hear them say it in an interview, but I have the feeling they already said something to the extent that the next game would be new material. Or at least, it's hard to imagine they'd do 2 remakes in a row. Sorry Ys Kefin fans.

Right now, I prefer Ys VIII. I'll be OK if they decide to make a remake, but right now, I'm not sure if I "trust" enough the Falcom of today for remaking Ys games, considering some things discussed in the Ys Celceta thread. I'd like for them to settle on Ys VIII so that in that time we can judge Ys Celceta more properly once it's out, and let the fans overall voice their thoughts, so that Falcom will know better what path to take when remaking Ys V. Perhaps they are waiting just for that. Or not. Hope they are. Oh, and thanks for bringing in the news, vincent.

Whatever game they decide to make, I'd prefer another Adol-only adventure. The team mechanic is good, but I'd prefer not to see it stick around permanently. I think a lot of the difficulty comes from having one person to keep alive.

I want that too, and not even because of the difficulty... having too many people around for too long isn't Ys-like.
Unless if they finally add multiplayer as it was intended ever since Ys Seven.

Personally, I'd like to see Ys V, but a new one would be fine too. If they go with Ys V, I too would prefer it without the party system, but of course we still need to see how Falcom's Ys IV will turn out (and even if it is still pretty good, I don't know if V is a good choice to remake with multiple PC's).

Why do I feel the next Ys will be made a couple of hundred years (or atleast quite some time X'D) later, since someone mentioned in the other thread they'll be focusing most on another Kiseki next? :'D
But I think I personally would like a new story, Ys VIII more than a remake (as much as I would like to see kiddy Terras!). Also, I'd kind of like it if they brought the party system back yet again! No clue what it feels like in Ys Celceta (and since I didn't splurge for this upcoming release, hoping that perhaps there will be an english version later... I don't think I'll know anytime soon), but I kind of really liked how Adol didn't feel so... alone in Ys Seven anymore. :'D I liked how his 'friends' were actually travelling with him, rather than them being left behind in random villages and so. And because of that, also added lots of variety to the battles. Far more than simply switching a sword!

I'd enjoy the party system on Ys VIII (but I don't mind any other for it, as well), but for an Ys V remake (and partially even for YsC, after having seen what path Falcom took with character moveset recycling X plot/story writing), I'd prefer standalone Adol.

But...The new game it wasn't Celceta no Jukai?

No they mean the next game after Celceta no Jukai. So when they start to work on the next game it will either be a new game or a remake of Ys V, which is the only 2D game they haven't remade.

I hope it will be a new game...With Dogi as a playable character. XD It will be cool if they do a game about Dogi, but I think I will continue to have to dream with it.
Damn, even Nintendo did a game for Tingle. >__>U
Anyway, I hope to have a new Ys soon. =)

It seems like they put about 3 years in between Ys games on average, but maybe they will come back soon with a new one.

Yup, Ys Seven was 3 years ago, if not mistaken. =/ I hope it, too.
