Hey, I voted for Ys V because a PS2 Taito update is coming on 3/30/06 and the original game you can beat very quickly. It is fun and it is a blast to play! An amazing OST lies within also. Happy gaming!

Ys V is an amazing game. Probably the best in the series, but I recommend Falcom Classics because it is shorter and a lot of fun. Beware of Xanadu though.

I'm almost halfway throught the game. I'm using a walkthrough from Gamefaqs.com, Ironically, it was in Ys V Expert. So if anybody wants to beat it safely, that walkthrough's for you.

Ys V and Ys V Expert have identical scenarios, only the enemies are different (more powerful, new attacks, etc.)

I like the Ys game on Falcom Classics, but you must also get Falcom Classics II so you can finish the game with Ys 2

I know. While we're on that subject, is itl the original or expert version that will be ported on the PS2 version?
Because if it ever (maybe in a hundred years) gets released in the U.S., I'll probably get it.

None of 'em will get ported to the PS2. It's a whole new remake we're talking about here. Since Ys V and Ys V Expert are merely two differnet difficulty levels of the same game, it's impossible to say "which", since this game obviously won't be equally as hard as either of these two games. Also, it's possible that the PS2 version of YsV will feature multiple difficulty levels like all the later Ys games does.

Not that I've seen, no. The release date is set to march 30, so I guess we'll just have to wait.
My guess is that it'll look kind of like YsIV Mask of the Sun - A New Theory.

I just hope taito learned from their last downfall. Personnally, I have nothing against them but it seems like when they tried to do Mask of the Sun, something was seriously out of place. But I did enjoy their remake of Wanderers from Ys though.

Yeah, YsIII was all the rage! YsVI though....
I hope YsV will be good, 'cause I really like the original, and it's the one that's gotten the least attention.
