Making a game.... sounds interesting....
NOPE
Actually it is something I'm thinking to try out. So I 'd like to ask the people here a few questions:
> What are the programs that I need to get started? - I'd like to try out 2D gaming (a nice start maybe) first, though 3D would be fine (and more challenging). I probably need some software to put things together. Right now, I have GIMP (the latest one) which is free and really rivals even the latest Photoshop IMO. I could use it for making images and animation (yep they recently added that feature.
It'd be nice if you could inform me of free softwares available across the net. Softwares that cost money are obviously something I would save up for first if I have no other choice. But if free softwares give me enough tools I need to actually make a playable game, then that would suffice.
Basics first^^ And yeah this isn't actually something I would do for money (I'm in Graphic Design already) and merely something I'd like to check out especially because I'm a longtime gamer.
Any help would be apreciated^^
PS: Worst case scenario, I'd just stick on working on my Web Site (yep I got software for that^^)
THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH

Try Game Maker (www.gamemaker.nl). It's a good program that lets you make games. The more experienced you are in programming, the better games you can make. Even if you don't know about anything like that, it's still possible to create some simple games if you try hard.

Multimedia Fusion is what I use - www.clickteam.com It's mostly used for 2D games. I haven't tried Game Maker or Verge so I can't say which is the best.
