I never said they wernt official...its just hard to fit them into the others. I really enjoyed them as a whole..but to tell you the truth, im getting sick of capcom and its addiction to plot holes with megaman.

Good point.
But seriously, Zero's Ending in X7 is foreshadowing!

Keiji hasnt served much of a role in any recent X games, realy. X6 to X8, the whole Zero Series and even X5... it seems that he's only in the Special Thanks or Producer position. Personaly, i think that he's been giving input to them on story and stuff while he oversees the projects... but as with most capcom games it seems the story is just forced (its done much worse with the street fighter series). I wish Keiji would put more into the series he creates once they become this old (again, its much worse with Street Fighter II... it's like "OK ive done my job! its a hit! its no longer in my hands! *runs off*). But seriously, the zero series wouldnt make sense if X6 to X8 wasnt atleast somewhat canon. I know its hard to fit in, unless u make some assumptions, but im 99% sure that X9 will go into details about how the elfwars start. Im curious to see what's gonna happen to axl (thats all im gonna say, since i dont wanna ruin X8's ending for anyone). Think about this though, i realy think Keiji is NOT the only one giving input into the series storyline, even for the 100% canon bits. A lot of people are thinking that they're remaking all of the X games (atleast up to X6) for the purpose of making the story make more sense. Seeing the change in IHX (cain dies at the beggining even though he appears in X2), they're probably gonna be changing a lot more in the other remakes too. So maybe when they get to X5's and X6's remakes we'll finaly know what happens for sure. Personally, i hate this whole idea cuz this probably means X9 will happen atleast 6 years from now just forget the story and make one realy amazing X game that will show even critics that Capcom is still capable of making a 9+/10 mega man game! Actualy, ive read a rumor or something that Keiji is afraid that he doesnt know how a game like that would be... so he's holding off and refusing the creation of it just yet... i guess its for the better then, if thats the case... oh yeah, and think about this. IHX shows us now that cain dies in X1... but before this we all beleived that cain lived atleast untill the end of X2, we all beleived that to be canon... now capcom went and changed it. so what do we know? what we think is/isnt canon now may change in the future.

Saying that they're not cannon, is like saying the newer Suikoden games aren't cannon, because the creator jumped ship in the middle of Suikoden 3. But I still consider them all cannon. And I believe the Legends series is 1000 years in the future from the first MM series, IIRC. Ofcoase, there's a part of me, that's hoping that Mega Man XZ is going to somehow end up being some kind of Metroid styled game, because Mega Man, is a series that could easily pull that off, with gaining new abilities & weapons, plus, I just don't see any hope for any 2d Metroids in the future Oh, & as for Battle Network, I always heard that it takes place at the same time as the original series, but in an alternate universe.

i'd agree with all that... and mega man should have done the metroid/castlevania thing a long time ago... its just plain overdue. I kinda wish the X series had taken it into account. with X8, everything i expected them to do, ofcourse, happened (disapointingly). They messed up with X7, so they decided to go back to the old formula and just tweek it a bit here and there, as usual. Its kind of insulting to me as a fan... when i feel like they never put as much thought into it the designs and direction as their other games. Resident Evil only had to hit the 4th before it took the turn it needed (i havent played 4 though, so ill just add that im not sure about this. I heard it was more action oriented, which may have made new fans but disapointed old ones). The zero series saved everything, imo. It was a total step in the right direction, one that the X series should have done, and it was a breath of fresh air for me. When Zero 3 and X8 came out (at around the same time) i enjoyed Zero 3 much more than X8. I loved how in the Zero series sometimes the base gets attacked and becomes a new stage. And you never feel like you have to destroy 8 bosses in order to get to the final stages because everything is broken up properly and goes well with the story (i.e. beat 3, then do some intermissions, then beat 2, then more intermissions, then the final 3). due to this stuff, the game does end up longer and more dynamic. Plus, i think that the added difficulty was much needed, and i was happy with it (after i got used to it ). by zero 4, it did seem that the series was starting to go the milking and tweeking route, so i'd be happy if Zero 4 was the last... unless Zero 5 isnt gonna follow that same line. lets hope ZX realy does take that next step... and from the screetshots and scans ive seen, it realy does look that way...
