lol.. i got my used copy of the game about 5 years ago... for $29.99. its a funny story too, especialy if you live in canada. i had gone shoping with the fam, not realy considering buying anything. like usual, i went to the two gaming store at the local mall. first i went to microplay, which always has a ton of retro games (saw Ys III for SNES there once) although they're horribly priced. Well, that day I saw SotN there, and i began to rub my eyes in disbeleif... then i saw the price tag: $100 CAD. There was no way i could get it, i just left with a horrible feeling. Then i went to EBgames and found the guy at the counter packaging a used PSone game... turned out to be SotN aswell! two in one day... heh. someone had just brought it in. AND it was priced 29.99 well, you can guess what i did next.. i took the copy from eb back to microplay and rubbed it in their face since then i have NEVER seen another copy of SotN anywhere. i went back to microplay the next day and the $100 copy was gone awell. this isnt the first time something miraculous like that happened to me either. I found a used Earthbound for SNES at blockbuster for $5! (theyve got that at microplay right now too, actually... its $70 ) well... now that im done my story, id better congragulate you on you're purchase... you've cought a big one! GH or not... just be glad you got a hold of a copy!

Yeah, that was a really good deal. There are some gamers on ebay you really have to battle for games like that.

Wow, that's the first time I've ever seen the US version (not the GH edition, that is). It wasn't pretty! Anyway, it looks like you got a fairly good deal. Not sure how much that thing usually costs, but the limited PAL version is expensive as hell! Standard (US) Edition: Greatest Hits (US only) Edition: Limited (PAL) Edition: (easily the best looking one in my opinion) The Japanese version looks pretty much the same as the PAL version.

Symphony of the Night, easily one of the greatest games on the PSOne, in my opinion of course.
A game that's pretty fun to play, and you can replay it since it really doesn't get old or annoying. I also really like Alucard, I just think that he's pretty cool as a character.
Peace Out Jest

Symphony of the Night, easily one of the greatest games on the PSOne, in my opinion of course. I think it is the best PS1 game. Although I do prefer the Saturn version. Not only that, I think it is one of the best games ever. If not the best game ever.

ive got a complete castlevania collection i am about to be putting up on ebay/ i think you got absolutely hosed on that auction, i think i paid about $13 from ebgames last year to get a complete non greatest hits sotn. Now granted, if you are not in the USA and cannot buy usa games or go to usa stores your only option is ebay. here is the haunted castle jamma board i am selling: cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8264229183&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1i will put up rondo of blood later, along with the saturn version of sotn and the japanese ps1 version of sotn (with soundtrack and artbook). I am a little bit sad to be selling all of this but i never play games anymore and really ought to unload them now and sell to someone who will actually play them

lol, a lurker, perhaps? yeah... selling such amazing stuff is kinda sad... oh well, atleast more people will get to experiance it this way (and man, $450 richer in the process! unless, you paid more for it in the first place...). i personaly didnt like haunted castle much... its cool, but just way too difficult and unforgivingly harsh for my tastes. dracula, have you beaten it, by any chance?

I preordered this game when it came out in the US, and was promised a Castlevania soundtrack CD for doing just that. Then EBWorld screwed every preorder customer by dumping off all the soundtrack CDs at their stores. I got a letter in the mail saying something like "sorry about that and no you're not even getting a free t-shirt." Jerks! But anyhow, Symphony of the Night, Xenogears, and Metal Gear Solid made the original PlayStation an EXCELLENT system.

eb has screwed me over in nearly a dozen occasion... actualy, getting SotN for 29.99 is probably the only time i can remember benefiting from going to eb. im gonna have to start going to best buy and wal-mart more often...

I've gotten ALOT of great deals by going to EB, mainly cuz I always end up making friends with the people that work there, so, they clue me into stuff that just came in, or when you can actually buy something new, for cheaper then the used version. For instance, I was contemplating getting the first Robotech game for PS2 used. It was $17 or so, but my friend Scott(who I grew up with), LMK they had the limited edition version brand new, for $12.
Scott doesn't work there anymore unfortunatly, but the EB I go to has really cool people working there. Infact, I just moved, & I could be going to an EB MUCH closer to me, but, one of the guys there, practically begged me to keep going to that store, & then the manager told me, how jerky the other EB's in the general area are.
Anyways, I think I got a great deal. I might eventually pick up an original of the Saturn version, since all I have is a copy...ofcoarse, I'm not sure how soon my Saturn will be unpacked, so I can wait on that.
