Falcom President, Toshihro Kondo, recently had a discussion with Sony play community about the two series in the franchise. He mentioned that he got a lot of good reception about the touch features from people who played Celceta and he said he is going to try to evolve the series even more while staying true to what the series is about. As for Legend of Heroes, he mentioned that his development team is keeping an eye on the anniversary date for the series. He also talked a little bit about his recent Trails in the Flash game and the transition it made from PSP to PS3 and Vita.
From what I understand, Kondo is planning to do something big for both games' anniversaries. What do you think of this announcement? Source article for more information: Falcom President teases next Ys and Legend of Heroes project

Cool, considering the mention of touch screen, I guess the new Ys game will be released in VITA again. I wonder if they will use the new engine or add some modifications to the existing one...

They did mention a 26th anniversary for this year though.
