So I decided to compile a list of hidden items throughout the game for those completionists, like myself, looking to find everything. At the end of the game, I had 5 Light Elements, 9 Water Elements, 8 Earth Elements, 21 Fire Elements, 3 Dark Elements, and 8 Wind Elements (not including the 3 elements used to create the Sexta magic in the tutorial). I was able to create all 18 Fluxstones with only 1 Light Element, 1 Earth Element, and 1 Wind Element left in my inventory. The following Fluxstones can be created: Combustion magic, Lava Flow magic, Heat Sand magic, Heat Wind magic, Heat Rush magic, Dark Flash magic, Flame Rush magic, Ravine magic, Heat Boil magic, Dark Boil magic, Sandstorm magic, Volcano magic, Heat Coal magic, Thunderburn magic, Freezing magic, Catastrophe magic, Megatornado magic, and Fusionblast magic. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a powerful magic spell that utilizes only Light or Dark magic like there is for the other elements. I've attached a downloadable RAR. file with locations of those hidden items I was able to find. Ys V.rar (706.6 KB)

Loaded up a couple of my old files, and discovered one of them could get that one MP item, and one could not. I decided to search a little, and this site seems to say that if you take the fire element from within that tower, you can not get the MP item thingy (and vice versa). I believe this is the fire element in question, as the MP item does indeed seem to disappear after grabbing it (and vice versa): Not sure what that MP item does (it's an equipment ring), but that's a dick move by Falcom.

That explains why I couldn't find it. That would also mean you can't create all 18 Fluxstones because all 21 Fire Elements are needed to do so, maybe I'm wrong but that's how I understand it. Big thanks korzic, looks like I'll be making another run at this game soon to test it out.

I didn't include the Fire Element used in the tutorial to create the Fusionblast magic, if I did, I would have 22 Fire Elements. That, Or I missed an element.
3 elements were used in the tutorial, they were a Water Element and an Earth Element. So if those were included, my total found would be 5 Light Elements, 10 Water Elements, 9 Earth Elements, 22 Fire Elements, 3 Dark Elements, and 8 Wind Elements.

Hmm, I see. Well, those totals appear to match those of that site's, so I dunno.

I googled that site too and matched those elements with mine and everything adds up, so I think it's safe to say I found em' all. I'll double check when I have the time to make another run through.

I've been hard at work on my 3rd playthrough to confirm this mystery item, finally got it. It's possible that collecting the Fire Element is a glitch causing this Spirit Font not to show up, the reason for this is because I came across a Fire Element that wasn't in it's location, so I exited the screen and returned and the Fire Element was there... so it's possible it's a glitch. I also hit the level cap of 24 before entering the Phantom City, defeated Dorman on his island, now I'm level 25.

Wait, are you saying you got all 22 Fire Elements + the MP ring, or does 1 of the items still need to be sacrificed? Either way, nice find about the level 25 glitch, it's something I've came across myself, but forgot about until I saw it on one of those Japanese websites. I wonder if it's possible to hit level 26 or higher with it...? EDIT: Oh yeah, on the subject of hidden items, this site lists a couple interesting things: home.e-catv.ne.jp/legend/Ys5/ys5-item.htm (again, paste the link into Google search, or something) Namely, a couple extra locations containing Silver Coins, plus a Brush that can be found in the mayor's house in Foresta Village (one of the pots), and sold to Willy for 20 G; if selling it to Willy, it seems you can do it only when talking to him at the mayor's statue (so, the Brush needs to be found beforehand, as there's another cutscene upon leaving the screen).

I haven't got that far to test whether I can get all 22 Fire Elements + the MP ring, but my guess is 1 item still needs to be sacrificed, but I'll let you know when I get that far. There was another Fire Element early in the game around the waterfall area that wasn't in it's place, so I went to the next screen and came back and it was there, that's why I'm just guessing that maybe taking the Fire Element in the tower is a glitch that causes the MP ring to disappear.
It doesn't look like it's possible to get to level 26 as killing enemies doesn't appear to give off experience anymore.
I knew about the brush and giving it to Willy at the beginning of the game, and I found 3 Silver Coins and 1 Gold Coin in total. That page won't translate to English for me, for some reason.

In addition to the hidden items, does anyone have a good reference to the different gem & shop prices at the different shops in the game?

The site listed in my last post gives that info. Haven't cross-checked the info to make sure it's accurate, though.

The Brush can be sold to Willy for 20 gold, provided you find it before you first meet him (although, I think there's another one you can find later in the game - that one seems useless). Not sure what the Isios Brush is supposed to do, if anything.
The Spirit Font/MP Saver (pretty sure it's the same thing - "Spirit Font" when you find it, "MP Saver" on the subscreens) can't be obtained if you get a certain Fire Elemental stone (second post of this topic). It's an accessory that basically gives you infinite MP while equipped. The only drawback is, you can't create all 18 Fluxstones if deciding to get this item, at least in the normal version of Ys V (apparently, all Fire Elemental stones are needed).
The Expert version has stronger enemies compared to their "normal" version counterparts. There is also a hidden dungeon, where you can find all of the Fluxstones (minus the first one) without the need to create them using Elemental stones (so, the above issue with having all spells + the MP Saver accessory in one file is no longer a problem). There is a Time Attack mode unlocked upon beating the Expert version of the game. I think there was at least one other thing, but I can't think of it at present.

I swear I found an item that causes Elements to gleam, making them easier to find. No one I've spoken with appears to know anything about it, and in my defense this was about 6 years ago. We can file this under unconfirmed, for now.

thanks for the answer, maybe it's the reason i didn't find it, since i'm pretty sure i've tested that wall and found nothing i've found the isios brush together with the brush in the room where stein was kept in the castle, after that falling rocks trap, and it's the only place where i found the brush, unfortunately you never meet willy after that, so i don't know how is it possible to give it to him :\

Unsavory - Never heard of anything like that. Perhaps it's the effect of one of the alchemy spells, or something...? No idea.
bahamut - There's another Brush in Foresta Village, in one of the pots inside the elder's house. But, you have to obtain it before talking to Willy when he's cleaning the statue (he won't take it later on, as far as I know). Anyway, just something really minor to see, it's not at all important or helpful.

oh, i got it, strange that i didn't find it, i usually search every angle, walls, and around every object in the game, btw it's not that important, willy will clean the statue without the brush XD
