So with the translation of LoXII looking unlikely and scant information ever released in english I've always been curious about the storylines and characters of these two games. If there is anyone knowledgeable of them, I'd love it if you'd tell us a bit about it! You know, the overall plot, the villains, what the player is trying to accomplish, maybe a quick synopsis. Please and thank you!
Just started playing the second game. It's fun, but it's too bad I have no idea why I'm doing anything. I should have learned Japanese at a young age, ha.

Hello! I've played through both games more than once, but I don't know Japanese. The Hardcore Gaming article has more information about the story than I can provide: www.hardcoregaming101.net/xanadu/xanadu2.htmThe Dragonslayer Sword is a big part of both games. jdkluv and myself are huge fans of these games. I have a very old guide that can help you to play/finish it. It's not a walkthrough, and it's designed to leave some challenge left to the player, but it does include most of the important tasks. I'll post a link later, as it's not online anymore. You have to get it through the web archive.

Ahh, I watched all your gameplay videos on youtube! Great stuff. I'd love that guide, thanks much. I hope someone can give us some insight into the story.

I'm still hopeful for a translation sometime in the future, since I've been eager to play both of those. The hardcoregaming101 articles seem to be getting updated a lot recently, so hopefully more information on the storyline will appear there (along with some references).

Well since we're on the subject, might as well talk about the game a bit. I'm actually surprised I've never played a game quite like it. The bump combat combined with the party system makes for some really unique combat encounters. I suppose the latest Ys games (Seven and Celceta) sort of emulate it.
Best song on the soundtrack? Silent Spire.

Decent walkthroughs for either one of these games would be greatly appreciated - if anyone has them.

We've been going back and updating/expanding a lot of Falcom articles. The Xanadu one was totally rewritten, but I haven't really had the time to sit down with the Legend of Xanadu games. They've been expanded slightly with some storyline and mechanical details from the Japanese Wikipedia, but even they're a little sparse on particulars. So they're about as updated as they're going to get, for the moment. (Though I still need to go back and add a few things for Xanadu in general, particularly for the anime and the All Over Xanadu album.)

Lots of good references and tons of new content. I didn't expect it to be updated that much when I re-visited the site.

Its very confusing to me.
How many games are branches off of the Dragon Slayer games. I mean Legend of heroes are dragon slayer. Xanadu is dragon slayer and then there are more actual dragon slayer games now right?

Last I checked, the LOX 2 translation is still in effect. It's just taking time, as these things tend to do. As of right now, I believe the Spriggan Mark 2 translation is taking precedent.

But nobody even likes Spriggan Mark 2. Eeehhhhrgh.

I like it, but I prefer the first Spriggan. Bonknuts however is a HUGE fan of Spriggan Mark 2, so, I don't blame him for pushing that project.
