Just bought Suikoden V this past weekend, haven't gotten too far in the storyline, but so far I'm loving it. For me, it really brings back the "old days" of the first two titles, and so far is a welcome change from Sui IV, which I felt had only a skeleton of a story. (fun minigames, though)
Anyone else playing this currently? (Besides Ys, of course, cough cough)

I'm playing this for sure! I haven't gotten to the point of where you run around on a world map. Though, so far, the graphics feel really plain, it reminds me of The Sims. I hope the graphics getter better, they're sharp, but, not always that detailed. There were a few parts that were testing my patience, but now I'm back to the meat of things. Also, I might add, as a Suikoden veteran from the day the first game came out, I LOVED Suikoden 4. It was a fantastic game, and brought the series closer to what it was after, the joke that was Suikoden 3. That's not to say I hated 3, it just REALLY got on my nerves, & it changed quite a few things, which ticked me off. Great story though, & great music, but, even with that, 4 felt more like a real Suikoden, & I breezed thru that one, because it was so fun. And, I still have yet to understand, why people think travelling in the ship takes forever, & that encounter rate was high, I just totally disagree, & I'm a guy who gets tired of high encounter rates! Makes me sick frankly, so, I'm actually quite confused about how people can say things, that to me, make no sense. Usually things atleast, make a little sense. Though, what's wierd, is as old school as I am, I'm missing the perspective in 4. I wish for that, or ofcoarse, 5 to look like 1 & 2(but that won't happen these days sadly). Anyways, these are just my opinion, I'm not trying to start a war.

Doncha think the artbook was too small
and the OST could've used a disc case huh?
Honestly I only got those LE stuffs from eBay but not the game itself.... yet^^
So is the storyline as serious as the previous games (like III)?
Or is it a pretty boy/girl borefest like the popular trend?

It seems pretty serious to me so far, but I haven't gotten very far yet. The main thing I'm seeing right now, is a deep oppression of people, & that's all I'll say without spoiling things. And there's a few story twisters you might not expect. And yeah, the book is too small, but, it was free, & it would be nice is the cd maybe came in the DVD case, like with Suikoden Tactics, or had it's own individual case.
