Can't use Skills in Ys Celceta Pc version - help!

Just downloaded it and have been struggling with it for the past 2 days trying to get skills to work. The problem is that even though the game runs fine, my L1/L2/R1/R2 shoulder buttons don't work properly - instead of activating skills, they bring up the menu, or the map, or zoom in and out.

I have tried the fixes recommended in the post (config.exe in different folder, etc) and well as Googling like a madman in order to fix the issue, but no dice. Whatever I do, I can't seem to remap the shoulder buttons to something else. I've tried all sorts of out of the box solutions as well, like using Joy2Key and Xpadder to remap buttons to keyboard input, but all that happens is that while I get the skill activation, because my controller is connected, I also get the zoom/map opening at the same time, so that doesn't work either.



I am using a Logitech gaming controller, FYI.



Please help! I've been waiting a long time to play Celceta on my PC, and I've been a longtime fan of Ys for more than a decade now. I could use the keyboard to play the game, but frankly that is like blasphemy to me, and it sort of ruins the experience of Ys IMHO.

I had trouble with this.
I tried my PS3 controller and and Xbox 360 controller and both of them didn't work.
Some folks I work with reported it working with a PS4 controller. I went out and bought one and it worked for me, too.
It took me a bunch of tries in the settings app to get button assignments I wanted, too.

It seems this game has control input programming issues.

I have a PS3 and Logitech controller, both didn't work. I never thought of using a PS4 one! Maybe I;ll try that.

This is a VERY odd game.
Most of the graphics options are .ini Exclusive, with most disabled. MORE odd in being (in my case) only supporting 11 buttons, with button 12 being recognized but does nothing in-game.
A PS4 controller should work native, since it's Dinput, but if you have any Xinput controller, I highly suggest Xinputplus to adjust you controls.
So far I've restored full R-stick, got lock-on to work (unmapped Button 11), Converted Triggers into buttons (Buttons 11 + 12).
You will need to adjust Rect. Correction on your sticks, as rounded leaves diagonals at 70% input resulting in some momentum ending walking.

Honestly, the worst part about this port is the config file itself.

I have an old logitech gamepad and it works fine. It's the older model that doesn't have the Xinput Switch and is just Dinput.

Hello everyone, I tried to remap the controls for Ys MOC for PC too but nothing worked. Can someone help me please? I have XInput Plus but it fixed nothing (maybe I don't know how to use it correctly).

I found out how to use the skills the EXTRA (which is L) in the config is actually the skill key while letter G is for the EX Skill. I've tried it and it actually works
