I have the Xseed version from GoG. There's a bug when you play the game in Windows XP in the section when Estelle get's captured and a movie is supposed to play it freezes. The thing is I think Xseed might have replaced the movie with one that uses the Divx codec. I think since the original from Falcom was designed to work in XP since the beginning maybe I can replace the files and it could work.

Can't you install the Divx codec in XP?

Technically yes. But Divx has malware and Xvid runs choppy. I wonder why Xseed changed the videos. They don't have any text. And the videos worked fine in the original game. Why fix something that was fine.

Update:
The videos worked when I installed K-lite codec pack. But now there's another bug. I'm at the last level and searching the card to rescue the Capuas and in some roms of the ship the characters just freeze and I can't move. Didn't Xseed test this game ? I think the patches released by fans here for older Ys games are better than anything Xseed does on PC. Xseed sucks.
