Yeah I read an announcement about this last week or something. I'm skeptical. I didn't like the PCE games but the Mega-CD Dungeon Explorer is freakin amazing in my book. Never played the SFC game. This will probably be like the new Gauntlet game for PS2. Horrible, in other words.

Wow this is good news! I'm a huge fan of the PC Engine Dungeon Explorer I & II, especially II for it's awesome music. I can't wait to see more of this.

I love the 2 TG ones, & the SFC one is ok, & I pretty "almost" hate the Sega CD one. That one truly is a glorified Guantlet. I just couldn't get into it. It's not terrible, but, in comparison, especially to DE2, it's not my cup of tea. And yes, the music in DE2 is one of my favorite things about that game, so much so, that it has influenced me musically. So, Gamemusicfreak, when we finally finish Neutopia 3, you're deffinitly going to see some DE influence in the music Not to mention Ys, Suikoden, & Wild Arms. Oh yeah, & on these new DE games, I'm skeptical. Mainly because they have random dungeons. I HATE THAT!!!!!! But, maybe there will be some remixed tracks from the older games. If we ever do a DE 3, I'd like to remake some of the songs from the first game, that never made it into DE 2. And maybe I'll remake a few songs from the Sega CD one, just for Sel

Could be cool, or a big disaster.
I really loved the first two for TG-16, particularly the second one.

I really enjoyed the TG versions of Dungeon Explorer as well. I hated the bastardization that was on the Mega CD, it just wasn't the same and the controls really sucked. I also really loved the debde debda code that allowed you to get the secret ending that I found to be hilarious in all its textual glory.
I look forward to these games, though I would have to purchase either a 360 or a PSP and I treasure neither thought.
Peace Out Jest

Like many other PCEngine games, this series had some very well composed music. I'm hoping the original tunes are remixed or at least used in some way.

I'm getting all nostalgic for Hudson lately, especially with the new Milon game for the DS announced. Can't wait to see more of this Dungeon Explorer too!

There's a new Milon game coming to the DS?! Wow... THAT takes me back... -Tom I'm a big fan of that character, and the Super Famicom Milon game that came out in '96 (no joke) is an awesome platformer too! They're calling this new game Milon's Star Paradise, and I won't complain, but it looks more like a Tetris style puzzler with bubbles. I know this is the Dungeon Explorer thread, but I finally found a title screen shot for Milon:
