So, anyone else excited for this game? I was a huge PSO fan so I can't wait for it to be released. I'm not looking forward to paying a $10 monthly fee to play online, but I love Phantasy Star about as much as Ys so I'll make due. Those lucky 360 owners don't have to pay any additional fee though. PC and PS2 get to play together online, but Xbox 360 gets it's own server. I'll be picking up the PC version. If you pre-order, you get the soundtrack for free. I'm waiting for my local Gamestop to get that in before I pre-order it.

True, true. But the who Algo storyline really got wrapped up in PSIV. PSO had hints the games were related, but I don't think it was definite. PSU is a brand new storyline in a new universe with familiar PS elements. While i'd rather they continue the story of the old games or have it set there, I suppose this is better than them completely screwing it up. The planets even have similar names to the old ones.

I may grab it..... maybe the same time I grab Ys origin which would be next year.
Been waiting for his game myself been an active player in Blue Burst until....when I got Felghana and all that Falcom crap XD
If only the release date was sooner or later.... it had to be close to when... the Wii comes out T_T

PSU includes a full offline RPG as well as the online game. Hell, you can even play "virtual" online mode with Extra Mode: Offline with a custom character.
I've reserved the Xbox360 version of PSU. This game will keep me occupied for a veeeeeery long time...

I was all set to buy a Wii at launch and then decided my money would be better spent on an arcade cabinet, PSU and Ys Origin. I was reading through the FAQ on the PSU site and it looks like 360 owners still have to pay $9.99/month to play online too. I guess I'm not as jealous anymore.

Keep in mind that there are 2 tiers of Xbox Live. Silver lets you play pay-to-play games like PSU and FFXI and download updates and pay-extras from the marketplace.
You need Gold if you want to play online games like Halo and Chrome Hounds that don't charge online fees.
I got the demo and if you see a Jumbo FOnewerl running around Universe 11, it's me.

Debating. I never really got into the PSO universe and I barely remember the old games.
That and I know next to nothing about this newest incarnation.

first my play-online disc needs to come in the mail, then I'll kick my friends ass with MGS-online, and around that time (end of november) PSU will hit the European market

I got it for the Xbox360 today. Yeehaw!
If you have it for this console too, I typically hit up Universe 13. Or at least, that's where I plan to make my base of operations...

Got it as well. Took a day to get it working as I found I had to uninstall my PC's firewall because it was casuing BSOD when I ran the game. All is peachy now though. I'm really digging the single player story mode, very nice to see a Phantasy Star game with a real narrative once again. Haven't explored online too much yet, but if anyone has the PC or PS2 version let's play. Debating. I never really got into the PSO universe and I barely remember the old games. That and I know next to nothing about this newest incarnation. You really don't need to know anything about the old ones. The setting and story are all new and just took themes from the old games to create a brand new game world. Gameplay is basically an upgraded PSO. Some people say it's too subtle an update, but I fired up PSO last week in anticipation and feel that PSU makes far more improvements than it's getting credit for. Aiming is still wonky for guns and techs though, but at least there's a first person aiming option for guns now.
