Why did they title this game "The Oath in Felghana" when it has previously been known as "Felugana". But then again, they changed several names. "Dularn" for example.

I guess Falcom would choose any title except Wanderers From Ys since it was never successful in the past.

It's better than "The Oath in Felghana" which sounds exceptionally dumb. Agreed, 100%. Why remake a game then change the name? I'm sure that the people who are familiar with Ys will know it's a remake, but I think Falcom might have just been targetting the people that don't know anything about the Ys series or were just introduced to it by Ys VI. Atleast by the gameplay trailers that's what it's going to look like.

Well, Ark of Napishtim sounded utterly stupid to me when I first heard it as does Oath in Felghana. But strange names is not a big suprise to me in this series. Look at the main title of the series "Ys"; I would call that very strange. The name of the series, the superb music, and the hack and slash action is what has made me stick to this series all these years.

Actually the Ark of Napishtim is directly related to some type of lore or mythology, I can't remember which one but Adol was showing it to me a couple of weeks ago. I do believe the actual name of the thing was Napishtim as well :/ It sounded quite a bit like Noah's Ark (Christian History, for those who don't know, which are very very few I assume.)

It was Egyptian, if memory serves... Falcom used a shortened version of "Ut-Napishtim." Yeah, I think it was Uta Napishtim in the lore we read though.

Yeah, I have read about that mythology thing as well. I don't remember anything about it. Actually, there are several weird Ys titles. Let's see.... Ancient Ys Vanished Omen - What? Ancient Ys Vanished The Final Chapter - This is probably the oddest title ever. Of course it is based on a real place. Every Ys area exists. Romn = Rome, for example. The Canaan Vortex is between north and south America. Afroca in YsV is actually Africa. Esteria is a part of the world too, but I don't remember where. I think it's Italy or something.

It was Egyptian, if memory serves... Falcom used a shortened version of "Ut-Napishtim." Utnapishtim is actually from the Gilgamesh epic poem from Mesopotamia (modern Iran and Iraq) and it is similar to Noah's ark. I can't remember the entire story but to find immorality, Gilgamesh went to find Utnapishtim for the secret of immorality. It turns out that Utnapishtim had the favours of the gods (or something like that). Utnapishtim told Gilgamesh that he cannot achieve immorality because the great flood had already happen. And then the story goes on to say Gilgamesh got angry and went on a rampage before his friend (forgot the name) was dying.

Is that where they promised to never cuss in a Ys Game? no wait, the Oath in Felghana is that pledge that all scouts from the "Wonders from Ys" have to memorize!!!!

Y'know, supposively there's a real vortex (or is it vertex? I forget) in southern Oregon where a house was built. Every time they built the house it would sink into the ground on one side. After a while the people who owned the house started to notice things, if they were to take a ball and roll it down a horizontal plank it would roll back towards them. Once the house was finally ignored and left to it, it sunk further into the ground. Some people came back to check it out and upon walking into the doorway noticed something much more strange. Even though the whole house was at a slant ( like this / ) they stood straight up, and didn't slide downwards. I saw this on the discovery channel some years ago. I wonder if it's real or not?
P.S.- Sorry, this one was just a tad bit off topic.

ya they use to have a deal with that kind of thing a knotts berry farm in california (back in the early 80s) of course that was engineered. they put me in the chair that only had the back 2 legs on the ground and the chair with myself would remain like the front 2 legs were floating in the air. it was suppose to be a leaning building kind of thing also.
off topic but good one cant help myself...

I've never really understood the die-hard adherence to foreign-language titles. Felghana, Felugana, Ferugana...it's all the same as far as I see it. I'd imagine the folks writing the subtitles to these games feel the same way.
